Combat Commander Gladiator Sword

I really like mine we live in the mountains so really put it to the test and it's a pretty good price

I feel strange saying this, but this is one of the best blades I have purchased in years, and for an extremely reasonable price. The blade profile is nice and thin, but still sturdy. The weight is nice and light, but not so light that it would rob you of power in the swing. It's well balanced and handles well, it's made of good steel and while the sheath is nothing special, the fact that it comes with one in the first place is a bonus so far as I'm concerned, and the one it comes with works just fine. They're not trying to be fancy, they're trying to deliver on something that works and they do an amazing job of it. It also happens to look pretty nice too, with the all black aesthetics, and with the combination of function and good looks at this price point, it's probably the best buy for value I've ever gotten on a blade.

It is a awesome sword, another add to my big collection of Knifes and Blades, of course this is my first time buying a sword so. overall I love the product, the craftsmanship, everything else.

When I bought this thing, I thought "holy cow this thing is sick!!" this dagger/ machete gladius is very nice. Mine is an abolute razor blade. It will cut through just about any tree. Just do not stab anything with this gladius, the tip will bend, but other than that this thing is amazing. Never leave this outside because when it is not stainless steel. This will rust. And also, I would not put this knife to the grinder, it will ruin its look. The handle is very nice, a nice blade to handle, it has a very good weight. It's quite lite. Overall, I was greatly pleased with this knife. Do not be afraid to hit trees with it, it will handle just fine. The manual for the blade care says that it might break on something of equal hardness. but this blade will not shatter, it will just bend unless you hit something so dang hard it snaps the blade in half. But, this blade's tip will NOT break off. It will bend yes, but it will not break off. I have HAMMERED and bent mine back into place multiple times and the pressure point where it keeps bending does not show ANY stress points. The sheath is ok, but not the best, i have accidently stabbed through it a couple times, but it still works just fine even though I did do that. ;) . The belt loop is very nice though, any belt thickness will go through the belt loop. Overall, this is a very high quality blade for its price. I would highly recommend buying this blade. You will never find a blade this nice for this same price. Very good job BudK.

I've been eyeing this for some time and finally bought one. Wow!! What a great weapon!! Fits and feels great to wield. Perfect balance. Engraving is top notch. Arrived one day ahead of schedule. Excellent price. Honestly, this can't be beat for the price. If you're on the fence, make the investment, you won't regret it!! By the way, the engraved phrase does not refer to the band, I never even knew they existed until my brother had to search (he doesn't speak French) to find out what I had engraved. It's simply a nickname given for those of us who spent lots of time in the swamp/marsh of my hometown in south Louisiana. Excellent blade!! Thanks BudK!!

Strong and sharp machete. Have used on brush and small trees with no dulling. damage or deformity. Worth the money.

I was impressed at the quality for the price of this Gladius/Machete right here. It came very sharp. Sharp enough to cleanly alive they free standing gallon jugs and it's pierces and stabs like a hot knife thru butter!!! I'll have no qualms taking this badass baby into the woods with me on a camping trip. If anyone wants a reliable, quality machete, buy THIS ONE right here!!!

Awesome sword that holds up well. Cant really beat it for price. I take mine when I go hiking as protection.

I have just opened the Gladius today. It came a day before scheduled; always happy with the shipping handled here at BudK! It is weighted perfectly and came oiled. The sharpness of the blade is great out of box and I plan to do some sharpening, with the rest of my short swords including this one, tomorrow. Always pleased, thank you for the great service!

Very happy with this sword razor sharp

Bought this model and the popular competing brand offering in a similar pattern. Our 19 y/o got first pick and picked the heavier competitor. I was happy as we wanted this for back up while his hunting. Have one neighbor that was gored finishing with a knife, myself nearly gored in the dark swinging a 10" bowie. This filled the hand, cut a Minute Maid 2 liter, happy enough. Shocked when we chopped with it. Shut The Front Door!!! Afraid to skin bark or carve with it.... am afraid it will do well and my other blades will get jealous. Surprised this affordable offering was agreeable for wounded critter defense when no gun or how is allowed but an animal still has to be tracked. That these patterns chop was a surprise, this one punches out of its weight class. Own at least ten bush blades from other company and am a fan. Won't be buying their gladius and will be buying more of this brand. Solid buy.

Even though this is nominally a machete, it is in fact a far better sword than anything else in it's class. It is better made and more comfortable to use than the other well known gladius made by that other famous discount sword/knife company. It is a better sword than any of the other 'real' swords I own that are 8 times the price of this one. The 1065 steel holds a better edge, and the blade is resilient, but not whippy. Everything is straight and solid. If you are on the fence about this, know that for the money, you will be getting a sword/machete far exceeding the small investment you are making.

The blade is wickedly sharp and incredibly well balanced. I have been holding off on buying this for years. I am glad to finally get my hands on one. I'll be ordering another fairly soon. Thanks BudK team.

I bought this sword last year, and I was very impressed with it. The blade was RAZOR sharp & you can pick your teeth with the point. It was heavily oiled, which protects it during shipping. After cleaning the oil off I went out in the back yard & tried it on 3 water-filled gallon milk jugs. It sliced through ALL 3 with little effort. Then I tried it on a hard cardboard shipping tube. Again...it went through that with ease. Since it IS carbon steel you MUST take care of it. I cleaned it up & put a light coating of gun oil on it. It has set in my gun safe for about 4 months. I took it out & checked it over. NO issues! This was more then worth the money. The balance is excellent & everything remained tight even after testing it. GREAT BUY!

I ordered this thinking it would be good but not great but I was wrong. It feels amazing in your hand and the balance in about 2 inches beyond the handle so it has a small lead but still balances very well. That said the thing that really impressed me is that I tested it against two of my cold steel blades (one a throwing knife I have thrown over a thousand times with only minor dents or scratches even when it hit screws and nails) and both times it left a dent in the cold steel blade with almost NO noticeable damage to this blade. The only down side is that it is a bit shorter than I had expected but the quality is far better than I had hoped for! I will definitely buy another one in the future.

This sword brings certain death to those who stand in its way. The blade is razor sharp and cuts through leather armor like a hot knife through butter. Facing the point of this baby spells certain doom. It easily pierces light plate or chain mail armor spelling certain doom of those who stand in your way. The slashing attack with this weapon is devastating as the thin tough blade has enough momentum to sever limbs and behead your foes. I highly recommend this blade for any infantry!

I was so amazed when I got this fine blade. I showed it to a friend and now he's a BudK fanatic (I am too of course). And as the video shows, it is beast at destroying pesky water bottles. I have SO MUCH FUN! THANKS BUDK

i got this sword lightning fast. right out of the box i was impressed. it was lighter than i expected. i can swing this thing all day long. it has a nice edge, not too sharp, but I fixed that quickly. it is great for hacking away at brush. I have no complaints. great product, great price and fast delivery.

When I got this sword I wasn't expecting much, considering it's price range. However when I opened it I found that it's really well made! The blade stood up to whatever abusive test I put it through, it keeps its edge well after sharpening, and it's small enough to either throw around your waist or into a backpack (as a gladius should be)! Definitely worth the money!

This was an amazing blade right out of the box! I found that this sword has an excellent grip, great look and has a good amount of weight to it. Event though the blade came considerably sharp right out of the box, if you sharpen it, you will begin to see the true nature of this sword. One thing I have noticed is that you should try to hit objects with the widest part of the blade because you will do the most damage without damaging the sword itself. This was probably the most sturdy sword I have ever used for the price! However, after a while of constant use, the tip may come off, but nothing a little sharpening can't fix! I highly recommend this sword for both rookie sword buyers, and veterans alike!

Hi everyone I'm very happy whit his sword doble edge and very sharp ready for everything.

Will be hard to find a better battle ready sword for the price. Easy to hang onto, and a really sharp blade rite from the box. Very well made. It will be a wall hanger most of the time in my home. But it's good to know that if it's needed. Its there and the handle won't fall off if u hit something with it. Like my other swords, that I paid just as much, or more for. That was before knowing what to look for, and before discovering budk.

Even if you don't collect swords you should have one of these! Just think of it as a large fixed-blade x 2! Great feel, balance & look. Use it or display it, either way you'll love it! Great sword at a great price.

I just got it today and man was I impressed. The blade was sharp. Nice hand grip and for the price its a win win win. Good buy all around get yours today you will not be dissapointed.

Its a very attractive piece, sharp in the box and the sheath is sturdy.the blade could be a bit longer and I feel that the pommel should have more weight to give the sword a better balance but the tpr handle is really nice.great for thrusting and chopping overall a good buy

this is an amazing sword. i bought it and it was sharp right out of the box!! very sturdy as well. i have bought quite a few weapons and some survival gear from budk and this is one of their best so far and for a lower price then what its actually worth

Can't beat this one for the price. Chopped through a 4x4 beam in no time, took down a couple of small trees and even threw it a few times into a plywood target. It showed no signs of damage afterward. The finish held up remarkably well and the tip was undamaged. It has a nice balance and doesn't wear you out to use it. The molded grip feels good in the hand and doesn't transfer much shock to the user. On top of all that it just looks fantastic.

Just recieved the sword today. First impression was slightly disappointing. Although the point is sharp the blade is nowhere near sharp. So will spend time with the stone. Blade is a little loose in the handle. Blade is slightly bent too. But for the money paid it does seem good value and it certainly looks good. Look forward to testing it in the forest.

Fell in love with this sword just looking at the picture. Once I got it in my hand it happened all over again. Solid feel, well made, razor sharp. Any gladiator would be proud to enter the arena with this sword. Well worth the price, made much better than many much more expensive swords I have owned. United Cutlery continues to impress and amaze me, as does BudK.

This is the best sword over all that i've gotten from BUDK. its solid and grips well, sharp and as the descriptions says, have a powerful piercing point! Cant even complain about the sheath on this one. Just like the sword its sturdy and seems to be built to last!

This is my first purchase with BUDK....and couldn't be happier. This is a great short sword. It does come pretty sharp and cuts great. Like some others have mentioned though, blade is thin and I was expecting a bit thicker, but overall for the money....this is a great buy.

First the bad stuff. The blade is too thin. This sword deserves a thicker beefier heavier blade. The length seems a little too short. I would prefer to see it 2 inches longer. It feels like what would be a small version of a real sword. The good stuff. Very sharp. Handles well. Grip is nice. Balance is good. Spear tip point is nicely tapered and very sharp. Low cost.

While the blade is descent quality it could be sharper and I truthfully believe we've had enough gifts from China let's start going back to made in America.

I just got my 2nd and 3d gladiator swords and they were both poorly made. One wasnt sharpened AT ALL and the other one was bended over and i was surprised that it could fit in the sheath. This is my first let down from BUDK, mostly because the first one i got a few months ago was so great and i was really excited to see its sisters. I still believe this is a must have because i still believe its high quality even for the price. the design is just amazing and the weight is perfect. just dont have high hopes for it :/
