Product Description
If you're a fan of all things Gaelic or are of true Scottish blood, you will enjoy this fine, bejeweled Scottish dirk replica piece! It features a stainless steel 4 1/2" blade and a twisted handle design. The pommel has a faux blue jewel and a coordinating scabbard is included.
If I'm not mistaken (which I may be) but I'm pretty sure this is the same one in The Last Witch Hunter that Chloe uses. Also I bought it about a year ago and it's really cool. It's blade wobbles a lil' but that is just because I have dropped it God knows how many times.

Very sturdy and well made
My scabbard fit perfectly, blade came very sharp, and there was no defects on the blade or the handle that I could find. However only one side is sharpened (It looks like there is a edge along half of the blade but in reality there isn't anything). My only complaint would actually be the gem. Let's be honest here, it looks kinda corny.
Kind of bummed about the stainless blade, I usually prefer carbon. But for $13 this is utterly superb.

Wife loves it, now I want one
Got this for my wife who loves all things Celtic & Gaelic. Told her I was getting her a 'fancy letter opener'. She loves it, and now that I felt the weight and solidity of it I want one too. This is no letter opener, it's a serious knife with a serious blade and rates right up there with other good tactical blades. The 4 1/2 inch blade is 3/16 inch thick coming from handle and & last 2 inches to tip at 1/16-- I can't believe the low price. Beautiful for display as well. A great buy!

no need to be so angry
just get a shoelace or some thing and wrap it in the twists then attach it to the belt

Great knife
I was really excited about this knife. Im half Scottish and even though this isn't true Scottish, it is nice to have something that is history. The knife is quite beautiful. You can tell it was cheaply made, but it's pretty sturdy. The sheath is plastic which shows a lot of scratches but I like it. The engraving was a nice touch, but it was a little scratchy/messy, but overall pretty decent. I would recommend this to a friend, good job BUDK team! A+

It's a lot bigger then I thought it would be. Really fast shipping. Mine is sturdy, the nuts are tight. It was a good buy. The only complant is: it's stainless steel, I prefer my knive and swords and machettes to be tempered high carbon steel.

Great item I thought the sheath was going to be leather but its solid im pretty happy with it

Always pleased
I have been a customer of BudK for yearsand have been pleased with every purchase I have made. This latest (the dirk) quality steel blade that keeps a sharp edge. Good weight and snug fit in the sheath. Would like to see other styles of sgain dubh hit your product line.

I got this for my best friend for a birthday present. it came 4 days after i ordered with another item and its friggen amazing. I read that the blade is really loose but i think products quality vary for each person cuz i tried my hardest to find any faults in this weapon especcialy with the blade but it couldnt have been sturdier. it has a nice plastic sheath that's better than it looks. and the entire stainless steel construction gives it a good weight that goes with its look. overall defenitely worth what i paid for.

I LOVE IT
It's very beautiful, and very solid. Well worth the money I paid and I'm considering buying two or three more for Christmas presents. Perfect size for having under the pillow for the paranoid gals like me. It came a little dull, but that's an easy fix. It came in just 6 days after I ordered it, and the only problem I had was that the cardboard box it came in didn't quite close right, which can hardly even be considered a problem. All in all, another great BudK buy.

I got this Dirk because of the cool-looking Gem; vs the better overall look of the Black Dirk also availible. I got both, and both have the Gem.

However, this Dirk is pretty neat, has a good feel to it, good in the hand, can be sharpened, pic never does it justice. I would say though, should be priced a tad cheaper, since I slightly (if at all) prefer the Black Dirk.

I bought 2 of these, and received them about 3 days after I placed my order - which is awesome considering that its nearing the holidays.

This is a Great item if you want to buy something thats neat, but dont have a lot to spend, Good quality, As good as it is in the picture about, the ONLY Problem is that you can see a bolt and screw inside the handle. But for 12 bucks, what do you expect?

Bottom line - Great item for the price, good quality, but can see a screw and bolt, even if just barely, and it could be sharper :S

I got in very good shipping time. The blade and handle and excellent quality. I cant believe I got this good of a deal. This was actually way better than I expected. The blade is a better form of steel than I expected. The only downside to it was the bolt to keep the blade was a little loose. but I fixed that right away. Didnt take long. But otherwise Its a excellent dagger. It takes a little longer to sharpen but it keeps its edge very nice.

great buy
The blade isn't sharpened(be that good or bad is up to you). The jewel at the pommel feels like cheap plastic, but it still looks good. The scabbard was a tight fit, but it's easy to get out, anyway. It's longer than I had expected, but the hilt makes up a fair portion of that length. You can't affix it to a belt, so that's a small disappointment. I would HIGHLY recommend this blade to a serious collector, or someone just starting out. Note: Don't buy it as a self-defense blade- if you take this into battle, you will die, and I will laugh at you. Hope my review helped! :)

Not for hose!
Being proud of my Scottish heritage, I had hoped to use this handsome blade as a sgian-dubh when I went out kilted, but alas it's far too large and heavy for that. (Even with flashes, kilt hose will eventually inch down under the weight of this knife.) Also, unlike the product title says, this is NOT a dirk. A traditional Highland dirk is almost 19 long, with 13 or so inches of that being the blade. On the plus side, these are beautiful pieces that are most definitely NOT toys. Yes, the scabbards are plastic and feel cheap, but the blades themselves are solid, well-made, and were delivered with a razor-sharp edge. Elegant and functional at the same time, I ended up buying a second one for my wife and they are proudly displayed and used as matching athames (ritual daggers) on our altar. :) Well worth the money, in my opinion!

It's a good knife, but the handle was a little misshapen when I recieved it which takes away some of the aesthetic value. I'm still giving the product a 4/5 because it still looks nice, just not quite perfect.

The dagger has an AMAZING look to it. The gem on the hilt is very cool. The only problem I can find with the hilt is that you can see the nut and screw of the knife inside it. The blade is really wobbly but nice for show. The sheath gets scratch marks on it from taking the dirk out and putting it back in. But it is great for the price! :)

great. just got this. i ordered this the day before Easter and it came in 4 days. the sheath is plastic and the blade isn't that sharp, but the weight is good. when i got it the sheath has some discolorations, and the gem is scratched up to. it feels sturdy and right in my hand. this is a great buy for anyone who is willing to pay $12 and wait 4 days. this is not my first purchase and im really pleased with this

great dagger. good sturdy design beautiful handle. it took a little while to to get here and the blade is a little longer than it looks. has a great feel but isnt very balanced and the blade could look more authentic but overall an incredibly knife

Had some glue on the jewel, but easily cleaned. the handle is a lil bit darker than the picture shows.

I ordered this dirk for my brother's birthday due to our Celtic and Gaelic heritage. It took roughly a week to be delivered and upon delivery, I almost regretted the purchase immediatley. The blade was so loose that you could see and hear the jiggling with the slightest movement. I ended up taking it to the garage and with the thinest flat head I could find, I began turning the nut that is very visible inside the hilt. It is unfortunate that due to the celtic design, you were able to see this nut, but saved me from having to return it. AGAIN, unfortunalty within 5 minutes of sharpening the blade I was right back where I started with the blade being loose. Other than the problems I've stated, it seems to be a decent dirk and quite a deal for the $12.99 asking price...

The Good:

A nice Celtic style, both in the handle, and the gem on the back.

The bad:

The blade, is Very wobbly, to the point i am disappointed in the makers of this dirk.

The sheath does not fit on tightly, and is very random on how tight it will be, depending on how you sheathe it. But most of the time the sheath will wobble around, somehow staying on the Dirk though.

In the end:

Although it is a nice idea, and a nice design, It feels as though it was made quickly, and even for the price, i would not recommend it. Sorry.
