This sword is what you need if your putting together stealth fully functional gear. The none reflective black is just that the tanto styled tips do what they are meant to the blade is a beast I suggest getting two of them easy to duel light fast stronge this is a sword ready to take out the toughest of targets without a scratch to the blade. I have put together a set of non reflective gear Honshu stars the Spartan throwing dagger which I'll find a chain to put the dagger on two timber wolf swords coming soon a tanto spear for when you need to reach out an touch faces next on the list is a clay tempered T10 high carbon katana then Honshu large throwing stars. If your looking to put your gear together BudK is for sure a great place to gather some of those need to have weapons trust worthy helpful with fast shipping if you pay that little price more.

I bought this item through amazon along with a few other fixed blade knives, sadly I ended up returning some of the other knives because they had faults in the blade (these were not $20 dollar knives either) I do not generally buy blades such as this one, but it is actually very good for the price and is thick enough for my uses, a nice machete with looks for cheap, a win win

I love the quality of this sword... I can tell it should do fine in the brush.. Everything is intact and working fine ... The edge could use a little sharpening but how sharp should a bush sword be anyway? Obviously this isn't made for delicate cuts... You can tell it's handmade, by some of the very small flaws in the hollow ground blade... Like anything hand made, there will be very small imperfections.. It's a sure sign of it's authenticity!!! THANKS BUDK!!!!

I have had my blade since 2010...thats 8 going on nearly 9 years and it has been nothing but amazing! You will not, and i repeat, will not find a better blade for the value! I have used my sword in all environments from the swamps of Florida to the deserts of Arizona and to the mountains of Washington. This blade has been nothing but amazing and outside of a little sharpening when I got it those years ago it is perfect. Thank you BudK!

Out of the box it had a decent edge, a little sharpening it is now razor sharp. I replaced the cord with 550 Paracord and is ready for work. Thank you again BudK!

Not razor sharp but definitely sharp enough to get most jobs done. It's full tang, looks great and handles well. Did a little wood chopping with no issues. The sheath and strap work well. This is a great buy.

It is really good, awesome and all, but the handle is the only problem. The handle is just a piece of rope, but, the quality of the sword is amazing. With a little bit of sharpening and a new handle, this sword will be my #1 pick for a zombie apocalypse.

I bought a couple of these years ago. I put one of them through hell and back- I use it for fun, for landscaping, for woodworking- etc. I've cleaved a 4" branch in a swing and sliced fabric with it. She holds an edge well but you do need to maintain it. There isn't much of anything I haven't subjected the blade to, and it's still in one piece and the worst notch (from slamming it through a box spring and catching the springs) buffed out nicely. Honestly, if mine broke and I was told a replacement would be $50, I'd pay it.

This sword is the first thing that I have ever bought off of budk and it is beast the only thing wrong with it was the nylon handle it came off after about 5 swings but other than that it was OK.

Sword came well made and my only complaint if any is it not sharp at all. Great sheath ,choped right thru a piece of tree and sword was unfazed. Love this sword! Thanks budk

for the price you cant go wrong. its a medium sized blade perfect for small places. being stainless (soft metal) I wouldn't go hacking at trees. the strap can be wrapped around the scabbard for a really cool tactical look.

Awsome little sword, well made nice handle wrap. Feels rugged looks and cuts great and the scabbard is excellent... Its easily well worth $20 and then some...!

I love the sword. It's like a wakizashi sword with a tanto style tip. But the thing feels as strong as a machete, which means I could potentially take down a tree with it. I also figured out how to wear it as a side weapon, worn on the left side, after some modification to scabbard. I love it so much!

Its not that bad of a sword, it came faster then it said it would be here. It is a little dull (but easy to sharpen), very sturdy, its very well balanced, and i really like the sheath. Great sword

Pretty awesome sword! The sword came exactly on the day it was estimated and for $20 bucks + shipping n handling, this was a GREAT buy. I have no regrets and would recommend this to anyone if you're interested in this sword.

Wow, I got this sword a few months ago and it has only impressed me. This sword is very thick and durable, I've swung it at trees with all my might and it stuck in that tree about 3 quarters of an inch. My only complaint is the paint, it scratched of at the tip and near the center of the blade, I also don't like the paracord handle but hey what can do you expect from a 20 dollar sword. If I had the money I'd buy 45 of them. If you are reading this and thinking that this sword is delicate or display only, you are wrong, this thing is unstoppable and unbendable (Well if you use it appropriately) Definitely one of the best swords on this site, I think they could sell this for more than a hundred bucks! Thank you BudK!

Best ninja machete because its the only one with a kydex sheath. Otherwise its just a chunk of steel with nothing really spacial about other then it works and is very cool

Very basic design yet so effective! Fun to train with and you can't go wrong with a full tang short sword. Well, you can I guess, but that's beside the point! Another one of my personal favorites among my vast collection of knives and swords. The sheath is great too, and the shoulder strap fits me perfectly. I am a slim man, and its not too big or anything. Plus, it can be adjusted of course. Very happy with it!

In this corner, weighing in at 1.25 lbs and 27 inches overall ... blade is matt black and 4.7mm thick, feels weighty, mine came with a slight arch along the flat area which is really hard to correct due to the high spring rate of this steel. Edge is there but not sharp - BUDK this is exactly how these items should be delivered, for display purposes you do not want to cut yourself taking it out of the box or showing it off; a few passes with a wet-stone and youre in business. Sheath - excellent and perhaps the best part of the deal, the leather wanabe's I usually get with other knives are for the trash and nylon is not a proper sheathing material for a properly sharpened blade, so kudos for the solid feel and tight hold of the friction lock. I have even tried slinging it upside down and that works too. The handle wrap is definately an area you will want to customize once you get it but that is an easy upgrade. Pleanty of room for 2 full size hands on the grip and length is just right for close quarters, heavy enough to knock something out of someones hands and solid enough to take some abuse. Thank you for a real bargain here BUDK !

This is one of the best valued sword I have ever purchased. The price is super cheap and the sword itself is amazing quality. I am a very proud owner of this sword. The balance, feel, and over-all performance of this blade is outstanding. I have nothing but good things to say about this sword. Also, the scabbard is impressive, as it is not made of cheap nylon, but rather of a very hard and durable plastic. I love this product as a whole. THIS IS ONE OF BUDK'S BEST ITEMS!!!

The blade is thicker than my best machete. The blade needs to be sharper-not really an issue. The 550 corded handle is tight, unlike other reviews. The sword holds tight in the sheath and the plastic sheath is much better than a nylon one. My only complaint is that the blade could be a little longer. Other than that-I will probably buy another one and I will definitely recommend it to all my friends. This sword is a great buy for the money! Thanks Budk!

I received this sword yesterday (one day before it went on sale, unfortunately) and I must say that this was a great buy. The blade came sharp and clean, and the wrapping was nice and secure. The sheath is very sturdy except for about an inch or so at the open end that isn't secured in order to accommodate the blade to lock it in place so it won't fall out of the sheath. The back strap slides around a bit but I probably won't be using that anyway with the belt loop on the sheath. 5/5 stars for this piece.!

This sword is fantastic! It arrived on time (four days) and opening it was like that first present on Christmas. Full tang (new sword buyers the term means the blade extends from the blade to the handle with the same steel, in other words swinging it won't break it off the handle), non-glare black finish, sharp enough to cut but not shaving sharp (easy fix), cord handle tightly wrapped, and a very durable sturdy sheath able to be worn on your hip, thigh, or back. Love this sword, this sword could easily go for 50$ but BudK has it for 20$. Booyah!

Just perfect, everything I was hoping it would be! Solid, thick blade, good feel of balance and power. Just wish the sheathing was left/right universal. I feel I ripped off the company getting it this cheap! Thanks a million BudK!

Everything was good performance. Came in 3 days and was sharp straight out of the box. The cord wrapped handle is a little loose but is not a problem. The sheath is good quality and fits perfect. Very thick but not too heavy. Good length (perfect for killing zombies)and overall worth the money. Thanks BudK!

This sword is awesome. Probably the best quality for the lowest price I've seen on BudK. The next cheapest high quality would be a damascus blade. This thing is thin, but sturdy as crap. Sharp enough when you get it, but easily sharpens more. The sheath might as well be as strong as the sword itself. Simply awesome.

have to say I am truly impressed with this sword. Perfect size for a short sword, weighted pretty evenly and came sharp. I suggest buying the accu sharp and re sharpening it yourself as I did, but all in all perfection. Just wish they would make an option on here to pick which side you would like to draw your sword from (which hand do you use)

Its the first real sword ive owned and its great. It took a week for shipping but thats ok. It look great. Feels fantastic. Its compact design makes it believable that a ninja would actually use this for stealth and assassinations. The staps are confusing so I gave up on those. And I re wraped the handle in black paracord because the original cord slipped off. Overall a fantastic buy. And I'd buy it again. Thinking about it I probably will when this one is banged up to much

absolutely fantastic. for a little over twenty bucks, you have a real wakazashi. a real tanto tip unlike the rediculous rounded tip, it is almost on par with a traditional katana. the only downside to this weapon is the grip cord on the tang. the cord unravels soon after handling with of any amount. but a great buy.

First of all the shipping was incredibly fast, then when I opened it, I was amazed!. I thought it'd be heavier but to my fantastic surprise it was pretty light and looks very durable. The cord is wrapped nice and tight and feels amazing. This isn't my first buy from TS. but it's already on my top. THis is a must for all those who loved the MGS4 Raiden, or just want a VERY nice ninja sword. I can't say enough good about it!

My favorite of the collection, its blade is heavy and durable, the sheath is a hard plastic and one of few hard sheaths in the short sword industry. Blade was sharp and well made, and fits perfectly into the sheath. The strap is strong and has a customizable length.

This sword is absolutely wonderful and the price definitely cant be beat. I've had mine for 4 months now. Thanks budk for the strong sleek ninjato. 5 stars it's my favorite of my collection from budk. I'll definitely be looking to use it in the apocalypse.

I wrote a review on this sword almost a year ago but it never showed up but, oh well its an amazing ninjato I love the sheath the more you hold the sword the more you like it. My only complaint is the buckles that go on your waist and leg are not very sturdy and if you wear it on for a long time it starts to slip off but, still perfect full tang sword. Thanks BUDK.

Over all it is a bit short but the sword is very durable. The sheath is a hard thick plastic construction and it has holes in it along the side if you want to hang it up on a plaque. The handle braiding is a bit loose but over all very good buy for $22. Mind you I had to pay $10 for shipping.

Great item, very fast shipping. Straps didn't work to well tried to put them on and just cracked the plastic on the back. Other than that its great weight and a very nice item. I have on display above my bedroom door and everyone that sees it loves it.

Nothing bad here, read the other reviews for more info., solid piece of steel, shorter, but I prefer it that way.
Oct 30, 2010
(5 out of 5)
Very good sword! The sword itself is about arm's length, (I am 6 feet, 2 Inches. The sword is 27 Inches including both the grip and the blade.) And has a nice matte black finish to it. The very edge of the blade, where it is sharp, has a nice silver look to it.

The Grip on the sword is very nice, I received it to be very tight, and it feels very secure. The blade seems durable so far, and I feel safe to train with it.

The sheath for the sword is also pretty well made. It is made of a very high quality ABS Plastic, which is supposedly 30 times more durable than regular plastic.

It seems the sheath is made up of two parts, held together by metal rings that are clamped down into the ABS plastic. As a result, the sheath is very light. With the sword in place, it still is light enough to carry around. Even lighter when you carry it on your back.

A small and unimportant deficiency on the sheath, the area where the sword is inserted, the very edges seem to separate. This is the result of the sheath being made by two separate pieces and being clamped together by metal rings. However, this does not affect the performance of the sheath, as I later discovered the hand guard on the sword needs a little extra space in the same area in order to sheath itself fully.

I have read some other reviews on this sword, and discovered people are having trouble with setting up the back straps. I will tell you now that the back straps for this sword are perfectly fine. There are two separate straps that are included.

On the back of the sheath, there are two platforms with + shaped design. In each direction, there is a slot. Insert the back strap with one strap (or the unadjustable one) in the slots parallel to the sword, if you want to mount it to your back. Do the same for the other Platform. Note that you must undo the male buckle in order to insert a strap into the platform.
After doing so, you can connect the other strap to the previous one in order to finish the back strap system.

All in all, I found this sword to be very satisfactory. The parts aren't cheaply made, and I would definitely recommended this to a friend.

This is my first buy from T.S. (along with a couple other things) and have to say i'm very impressed. Though like some complaints have said; the straps it comes with are kind of tedious to configure. I suggest if you want to put on the straps, don't turn it into the leg strap, keep it a back strap, cause the sword, though light, i feel will still pull the whole thing down if it's on your leg. As for the sword itself, it's very sturdy, mine came kinda dull but a good sharpening will fix that, it's very good for the price, i'm actually thinking about getting another one. 5/5

P.S. And please tell me i'm not the only one who thinks this looks like Raiden's sword from MGS4 which makes me wanna scream..... OH PLEASE SELL A REPLICA OF RAIDEN'S SWORD!! PLEASE!!

This blade, once I got it, was very nice. I look the look, and feel of the blade. Like a lot of people have said, the handle wrap comes undone rather easily. I took it off, rewrapped with the exact same pattern, just a lot tighter. After that, there was about a foot and a half of hanging cord. Also, the black finish comes off VERY easily. I stabbed it through the box it was shipped in, and the finish was already scratched. I personally like the look of a scratched finish. It makes it look used. Now on to the good stuff. The blade came sharp. Not very sharp, but sharp enough where you can simply run it across a stone a few times, and it's good to go. The stabbing tip, however, it EXTREMELY sharp. And, for being 440 Stainless (I think), it's surprisingly sturdy. I did a destructive test with it, and hit a 4x4 beam of wood 15 times. No bends in the blade, and no problems with it losing it edge too much. Overall, good blade, GREAT price, and a definite must buy.

Great great weapon, the only problem I have is figuring out the shoulder strap. They gave me two (what seems to be) random straps, but I think I might see if I can contact this site about it.

Customer support was awesome. All 3 items I bought shipped within 3 days. Anyways about the sword. blades pretty thick so it can take some damage. More of a short sword but it was bigger than I thought and shinobi normally dont carry huge swords anyway. The blades pretty sharp out of the box. id say anyone who wants a mini katana thats really balanced and lightweight just to play around with should definetely give this one a chance.

Great weapon, defiantly worth it's price. Only things that I have to say about it is that the cord handle does come lose after a little awhile but that's an easy fix. Also after taking it to the cardboard box it came in I noticed that the finish of the blade was already starting to come off, though i guess you can fix that with a bit of spray paint.

Overall great weapon.

LOVE IT.... BUT the straps SUCKKK there are holes the side of the sheath that you could put cord and make your own.. i recommend this option if you can figure out the straps haha. the sword will come out of sheath if enough force is used, but is pretty locked in.. not disappointed in this buy. awesome sword.

Was expecting it to be a big larger from the picture, but after cutting a few bottles (Heck, we even cut through some pretty think branches with it!) I'm VERY satisfied with the blade. Its not exceedingly sharp, but it'll get the job done. DEFINITELY WORTH THE BUY, AND EVERY PENNY IT COST. My only complaint was the wait time with the shipment, but overall, still satisfied with it!

This sword is AWESOME. It came razor sharp and with no imperfections on the steel. Although I did not experience this extremely fast shipping that everyone was talking about, took about a week and a half but it was definitely worth the wait. The nylon on the handle feels a bit loose but some epoxy or something should remedy that. All in all a great experience for my first buy.

I bought this sword as a christmas gift for my brother. I just got it today, and I am jealous! I love how it looks and feels when you swing it.
I am so glad I got this for my brother, he will be very pleased with it!
Aug 25, 2009
(5 out of 5)
Like others have said, the grip does slide a little when you swing this, but that can be easily fixed with a sliver of metal or wood.

The straps were very simple and easy to attach to the sheath, so I'm not sure what everyone was talking about when they said the straps were difficult to work with.

The blade itself is very sharp, but not strong enough to cut through a box. It will pierce cardboard with minimal effort, though.

This is an excellent addition for any collector, especially with the price in mind. The black steel is very handsome, and the blade itself is functional at the least. You'll definitely get more than you paid for with this sword.

This truly is a great sword for its price and find it exceptionally well made. It came sharp and had a really nice scabbard to go with it. Also two straps were included which i didn't expect but glad to receive them. The handle was well wrapped. Most of all the weight and thickness made this a one handed sword well done.

A pretty good collection sword. Actually exceeded my expectations, as it was heavier and thicker than I thought it would be. The cord wrapping is solid so far, and upon arrival, the blade is acceptably sharp, but not razor-sharp (get an Accusharp). The scabbard is really nice, and comes with two straps. These can be used to sreap the weapon to your back, side, or wherever you really want it, and this was also unexpected. But all and all, I am highly satisfied with it. :)

Very high quality blade for it's price, and the sheath is just as good. Didn't find much use for the straps, but the sheath and blade alone are well worth the price, so the straps are pretty much a nice bonus.

I like the thickness to the blade, and it is one of my sturdiest swords in my collection, and that's saying alot!
The thickness also gives it that extra power, so if you get it sharpened, it starts getting pretty strong.

The cord-wrapped handle did come loose, but I modified it to where it will never come loose. Came with a "false" edge, as other's mentioned, so it's semi-sharp. I was a bit surprised how short the blade length was, and wished the blade was a bit longer. (Maybe 24 1/2 inches?)

But overall, this is a great sword, and aside from my complaints, it's actually one of my best swords, and is sturdy enough to take almost anything!

I give it 5/5 for sturdiness, awesome sheath, and good functionality.

A very high quality sword, especially for the price. The stainless steel is very sturdy, and the edge is quite good for a stainless steel sword. The grip moves a little, but not enough to be annoying and it is quite comfortable to hold.

The size of the sword is small enough to not make it unweildly and large enough to have a decent amount of force behind it. For size comparison, it's a bit shorter than my arm. Lightweight, well balanced, and overall a good make.

The case is also quite sturdy, the hard plastic stands up just fine. The straps are quite customizable, which is nice, but the sizing of the straps is sort of odd. Both adjustable, but only one is long enough to be able to go around the waist.

All in all, a very good buy for the price.

Best stainless steel swords available. Very durable, and nice sheath. The perfect one handed sword. Stronger metal is the only think that could make this one better.

Extremely well-made and sturdy. It is very balanced and has a nice weight to it. It's virtually impossible to break, and has a very sleek look to it. One of the best swords you'll get for the price.

THIS SWORD IS AWSOME...if ur a MGS fan(metal gear solid), this is almost identical to the sword raiden uses, though a lil shorter but still very good. due to one peace of steel, it makes it mutch sturdier and durable. this was the best 22 bucks ive ever spent on a sword.

Amazing quality for 22 bucks, everyone needs one of these.

PROS:
-one piece of steel, impossible to break
-mine came razor sharp
-comes with back straps
-sword snaps firmly into sheath

CONS:
-cord slides off the handle sometimes, easily fixable
-doesn't come with any instructions on how to do the straps.

Even though it does not come with any instructions, the back straps are easy to figure out.

Good Deal for those who want a battle ready sword and are afraid of beating it up, for almost $22 this sword is sturdy, looks like it can take a beating, and nice and light in the hand, long enough to boast a fairly good reach, while still having the center of gravity near teh wrist so as to allow fast thrusts and slashes. And if you damage it all you need is another $22 and your good, but whats more is that it is stylish enough that you may want to keep a spare for display, as it just has the ninja feel to it. Put all that together with a strap on sheeth, and you got one hell of a sword!

Very few weapons can match the speed and power of a katana, fewer still can match a well built ninjitsu katana. Made to dominate in close quarters this example of a ninja's straight blade katana sword is easily weilded, heavy bladed for added power to every swing, near perfect balance in the overall sword build, and easy to maintain. This is without a doubt one the best tech style ninja swords on the market.

Has a nice weight to it. Good for quick slashes and rapid change of direction when slashing. As most of my other items, it did not come sharpened (only pointy). Very solid and thick piece of steel (it is actually thicker than my 52in Zangetsu).

This sword is amazing, it wasn't as sharp as i expected but that was easily fixed. Now it cuts Liter soda bottles and Gallon milk cartons with ease. The only downside is that the nylon cord likes to slip down off the bottom every once and a while but thats no big deal. 5/5 for price and fun.

Just got this sword today and I cannot put this damn thing down! even though the blade is not sharp, it does not take much to get it to the deadly level. The sheath is awesome! although the straps are a pain to figure out but once you figure it out its awesome. Once the blade is in the sheath it make no rattle unlike most swords I have boughten. Therefore I give it a 5...................... out of 5

MAKES YOU WANT to take good care of it due to it's beautiful sturdy look. It's plastic case is pretty strong. Smaller than what you expect yet an awesome weapon in it's own. A must have. A little shorter than expected but it doesnt matter. One is amazing, but duel wielding is evem better. I got one from my friend who also had one... then we both bought another one each and now we are both duel wielding these swords. If you have one, buy another!

This sword is perfect. Exactly what I wanted, one piece of steel, strong, sharp and quick. This blade has a solid feel that gives confidence to it's performance, and quick enough to be deadly. I love one piece blades, and this one does not disappoint. I've had my eye on this one for a while, and I'm so glad I finally got it. I want that Spartan sword next!!

Looks great and feels good too! It comes with what is called a "false edge" which can cut (so be careful folks!) but is by no means a "live edge". The edge would have to be profiled differently to have the "live edge" effect. I took the liberty of doing this and now have many excuses to "use" the lemons in the backyard. The plastic sheath is really neat and secure. In short, way too much fun for such a low price!

This is a very durable nice sword! It's great for chopping wood like a badass while camping. It is a very wide sword making it very strong. The point is very good. The edge has no burrs although it is not sharp at all. Can't even chop through a soda bottle like my other swords. Although, with a little bit of sharpening, it can achieve great things. Definitely not my favorite sword and you won't survive a zombie apocalyse with it unsharpened. Great for rough outdoor use!

Pros: short enough to draw off the back. Thick sturdy metal for chopping. Sturdy plastic sheath. Multiple ways to attach to your body Description was accurate. Cons: rather short. Not razor sharp(has potential) Cheap cord wrap is loose/ uncomfortable $20 not bad, if it is ever bogo recommend grabbing a couple

Bought one for my brother as a Christmas present, his was perfect. Sharp, no damages. My wife bought me one for Christmas, but mine has some sort of glue or resin splashed onto the sheath (and it won't come off..) as well as some sort of machine-marks that run across the entire blade, seems to be a factory defect. I'm surprised anyone even thought it was good enough to be sent to a customer. I'm now reluctant to buy anything else from BudK. Also, there's no such thing as a blood groove. This is a very, very common, albeit very amateur mistake that most people make. Blood grooves in fact, do not exist. The groove is to make the blade sound more elegant when cutting through the air/aerodynamics. I was hesitant to buy swords from people who called it a blood groove to begin with. And Damascus steel doesn't exist anymore either, it's simply what they call the forge folding process, and you can only fold a blade between 7 and 16 layers before you actually weaken the blade. 1070 layers of Damascus Steel is a description I saw on more than few swords on this website. I had to laugh. Not only an in-correct statement, it's an out-right lie to sell products that anyone who knows anything about swords can see right through. It just makes you guys look really bad, just saying. Anyway, I'll give the product 3 stars, because one came great and one came all kinds of messed up. I can't give it a good rating if they're shipping me defective products on Christmas.

good things:
-it came sharp enough for my tasts
-the strape goes perfict on my back .. almost like it was ment for it ... O_O
-not too big, not too small, not too much in the middle LOL
-sheath is strong holding and not a rip.

bad things:
cant strap on my leg .... well maybe its just my size ... BUT STILL!

result 4/5

I like the sword, it is a stainless steel blade but its not all that bad and its easier to take care of. The blade was a little smaller than I expected, but you gwt used to it, and I can't complain.

The nylon bit at the top of the scabbard though was head together by very cheap and loose rivets. I felt like I could rip it apart. But that's a small matter.

Almost everything about this sword is great. Wasn't too heavy, easy to use, very strong. The main downfall of this sword is that the handle came unstrung rather quickly and I don't know how to retie it. Otherwise, great stuff.

Theres nothing at all wrong with this sword per se, but, for me, its just a really great looking machete. At its price tho, it's an amazing machete! The wrap stays in place, easy to sharpen, and great at cutting through anything up to a thick vine/moderate tree branch. So for what its worth and what it costs i had to give it at least a 4...4 and 1/2 is more like it

I received this sword several days after purchasing it. As always, I immediately inspected the weapon, which I purchased as a home defense weapon, to be sure of quality. I am happy to say that it was packaged well, and in perfect condition.

The only thing keeping me from giving it a perfect 5 star rating is the sheath. At the top of the sheath, the plastic did separate a little bit. However, it does not impede on my ability to use the sword, or place it back in the sheath. It is a snug fit, makes a beautiful clicking sound when put in the sheath, and is perfect for its purpose. The blade was a little dull when I received it, but that is not surprising. A few runs with a sharpener, and all is well. Slices right through paper, just as any blade should. Also, the sword is extremely light weight, as well as short, which makes it an excellent weapon for speed. As any katana enthusiast knows, a shorter sword, while taking some of your reach away, allows for far faster a swing. The light weight makes it easy to control. It is an excellent sword for any defensive purposes.

This sword is definitely a good buy for somebody looking for something practical.

Not too shabby. When ordering I was under the impression it would come "Battle Ready". Well, they should change the description to "Stabbing Ready" since this blade come as sharp as a butter knife but the point of a razor! Tried to slice thru the shipping box and it just left a nice dent in the box...After a few passes with the wet stone I was able to slice down weeds with ease.

The blade is shorter than I expected but is very handsome. The cord wrapping on the handle tends to come loose if you swing this baby around so be careful.

All in all Im satisfied with it but have just ordered an Accusharp so I can hopefully give this new life.

Just got it today, for $21.99 it is a good buy. I particularly like how the straps can be used to secure the scabbard to the leg. I am however, disappointed that it isn't longer. 27in is good for a one-handed sword but I would love to see this in at least 34in + and gladly would pay double for one. 4/5 because of the length.

Very good blade, pretty sharp (though I need to sharpen the tip). Awesome feel in your hands. The sheath is really cool, it hold the blade in place very well.

As for the straps (which have been mentioned earlier): On the back of the sheath, there are 2 flat hollow + , that the straps can go through however you want them to. As for the straps themselves, one came 2' and the other 4.5' in length, and I couldn't do anything with them. Luckily, the same strap material is $0.49 per foot and better clips only $1.49 ea. So for $6, go make your own, improved straps.

MUST HAVE BLADE!!!

I just got this sword tonight. I must say it is not what I expected. It is not as sharp as I would like it to be. But the steel is good quality, and the black finish is very nice and produces no light. Now I must go sharpen this a little more.

Ill give it a 4.

With a little more sharpening, this sword could be decent. The paracord handle is loose and will move downward when you swing, I guess putting something at the end of the paracord it would keep it from sliding and keep the paracord firm.

I had this sword for a couple of months and never used it. Then one day i decided to go out an hack at a couple of trees and it broke in half on me in the middle of the blade. I would recommend this for looks, but not very durable, even considering its thickness which was very nice as well. But thank you BudK
