This is a bad to bone knife. when I first use it, it cut thru not only what I was cutting but, due slippery hands it when thru what I was cutting and thru my one finger to the BONE! What negligence on my part. Won't be a next time. Going to order another one to have a spare . Can't say enough about it. I believe everyone should own at least one. SUPER knife foe the money.

Great knife, excellent weight and size. I was not disappointed, in the knife that is. It's Badass, period, but the nylon sheath is crap. The rivets for the belt loop broke in less than a week, the velcro to keep the knife stable and locked in the sheath frayed and separated from themselves and the sharp tip rubbed and cut its way out of the bottom of the sheath, exposing the tip and edge to damage. I had to purchase a full leather sheath elsewhere. Great knife, again, but total shite case.

I purchased mine a few years ago and put it with my collection and never used it Except to take it out and look at it every once in a while to check the blade for rust, a short time ago, I pulled it from the sheath, and only the handle came away in my hand. it looked like the blade has crystallized bout an inch inside the handle, I glued it in with super glue, and put it on display on my wall never to be used, except to look at. Has anyone else experienced this?

This knife took forever for need to receive but it was work the wait. This blade on this is outstanding and could radiant easily top high end knives. I am so impressed it's not even funny...

WOW!!!! I just got the Beast a couple of days ago, and I just feel like, I have to tell you, about this Bowie Knife!!! I really like the feel of it in my hand, and it just feels right!!! The balance is right where the choil is, but I DO NOT recommend anyone trying to choke up on this knife, like it shows in the Video!!! For One thing, the choil only allows for about 1/3 of your forefinger to fit, and the razor sharp blade is right there!!! If your hand gets bumped even a little, your finger is going to slip, and you are going to hurt yourself, before whoever, or whatever, you are fighting against, will even get to take a swing at you!!! Yeahhhhhhh.... I don't think you want this to happen to you!!! The blade is mean looking, kind of like a "shark" cruising through the water, or in my case, I moved back to MI from Arkansas, just over a year ago. and when I saw this knife, the "Arkansas Razorbacks" immediately came to mind!!! Yeahhh!!! Any "Razorback" fans out there??? Cmon Ya'll, you gotta get one of these Bowies to show off to your friends!!! It really is a cool looking knife!!! The hardwood handles, are just a little small for the Blade handle, but a little filing will fix this... The satin sheen of the Pommel, Guard, and Blade, accent the handles very well!!! You know, some might see a high tech submarine, skimming along in the ocean, and the razors are waves!!! You may see something different!!! Well, one way to find out!!! "Git er Dun"!!!!!

I am satisfied with the whole experience. I need to go out in the woods to gr the feel of having a good size ?? to assist in my survival. To be honest I can't really rate it yet except to say it's sharp. and feels good in my hand.

I JUST BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE OF THESE, THIS KNIFE IS A MONSTER, IT IS A SHOWSTOPPER, IF YOU WANT A MANS KNIFE, THEN THIS IS IT. I'm carried a knife since I was 13 and I'll be 66 by years end. This is the 1st blade that drew blood from me straight out of the box. I can't think of a better complement that I can give a knife in this review. This blade is the real deal. It is not a toy. Treat it with RESPECT or IT WILL BITE YOU.

For the price of this life I am very. It says on the box Wicked sharp and it does come very sharp you can almost shave with it. It's not a full-time life so I wouldn't go throwing it around or try to cut down trees with it but as far as a knife goes for the money that would be hard to beat

Love this knife...just got it today....sharp out the box....for the price it's great....not a fan of the nylon sheath but oh well...it's still a great knife...this is my 6th knife I've bought in as little as 3 weeks....I will buy many more...great job budk

Sharpest knife I've ever received, out of the box. Thinner than I anticipated. Good, as it is lighter also and I actually plan on carrying this on a job out of state, where bears could be an issue, though unlikely. Will Likely buy again. Jim

Okay, So my knife came in the mail today and it was razor sharp. The sheath is decent, but I can see the knife cutting it. Unless you are cutting rocks, you shouldn't need to sharpen it.

So I'm a collector of functionality and never really considered budk for serious stuff. However I really liked the design of this blade even though it's not my usual MO. When Received it I was very pleasantly surprised. I Actually cut my finger on this blade. It's sharp as hell. Very good for a 12 dollar knife.

A well made knife, and extremely well made sheath. It comes with an above average edge and a ridiculously sharp point. Also very visually appealing, looks bad ass. The color of the wood handle is lighter than it appears in the picture and was heavier than expected.

Aesthetically, this is my favourite knife. It looks amazing, it could be sci-fi, it could be fantasy, but it would fit anywhere. Speaking of fitting, the handle is shaped PERFECTLY to my hand, I've never liked a bowie's looks more. Would i take this with me to a tropical deserted island if i had one knife to survive with? Certainly not. But would i pull this out to show my friends if they asked about my knife collection? This one is always last because its the best. well worth the money, id have paid more than double for it certainly. who cares if the spikes on the back aren't sharp and have no real function. this thing just Looks /cool/

This Bowie is not made for heavy outdoor use like chopping or batoning, BUDK and Timber Rattler have other Bowies for heavy use. This arrived razor sharp with no flaws. This is a display Bowie Bowie or very light use. I love it!

I bought this knife on sale just because it looks freaking bad a**. And as soon as I got it I said "HOLY FREAKING CRAP!" I sent a picture to all of my friends. I haven't used it on anything yet, but yeah this knife is freaking bad a**! If you want it I would get it

When I saw this Knife it caught my eye immediately. Then I saw the Price & thought there is no way that knife is that cheap & look that intense. I had purchased 3 Knives that day and Kept telling myself to buy it because I loved the way it looked. I definitely was worried that when I receive it that the knife would be a disappointment. I can honestly say its one of my favorite Knives. Every time I show my knives to friends that's the first one they pick up. It looks exactly like the picture well definitely more Intimidating in person. Its actually cheaper now to buy than when I purchased it & even then it was a great price. There's always someone that is going to have something negative to say. Maybe they bought a defective one but mine is great. I've used mine on quite a few things and its still very sharp. It's a big knife. The only thing I would've liked different is the Sheath. A nice leather one with the leg strap would've made it even better but for the price I am extremely happy. The money I spent on this (very little) is worth every cent! This blade came razor sharp to the touch so be careful unpacking it. As a collector I would say this is more of a show kind of knife it's mediocre on weight. But the look on your friends faces is what makes it worth the buy it screams Bada**! But if your looking for a sturdy knife that can hack into branches id recommend a heavier blade. None the less it's still an amazing knife, budk never fails me!

From me growing up in Alaska I've learned to always carry some sort of protection with myself. You can guarantee to have some sort of encounter with a grizzly or a black bear. I now always carry this with me. Not to mention my childhood didn't revolve around little children's toys. What I always had was either a 22 long rifle and or knives. I also collect knives, bowies, machetes and swords. Budk has helped me add to my collection. Personally I think the knife is bad**s gorgeous ;) <3

I got this Bowie for when I'm up trapping beav in the Rockies, cause you never know when you might run into some hostiles or an angry griz and need a good in-close weapon. This Timber Rattler does the job for me. However, even if you don't plan on heading up to the Rockies to trap beav any time soon, this is a great knife to sit around with at home and dream a little. OK - pretend. Definitely worth the money.

this blade is very big and sharp. it is also a very very nice hunting blade. sure to get the job done.

As a beginner knife and weapons collector I thought this would be a great knife to start off with. It came sharp as all h**l and looks cool, the only issue is I believe it may not be full tang and the wood parts were not flush with the metal so it was not a smooth grip.

got mine in the mail today and i love it...thinner blade so please stop trying to cut wood with it..lol...its just right for a self defense weapon and wll pierce anybodys ribcage if need be.....gave it 4 cuz im not a big fan of the nylon sheath.....but overall i love it,,,will be buying plenty more knives from bud ...got 3 more enroute as we speak...lol

I loved this knife... a little too much. It is indeed very sharp out of the box (able to slice strips of paper nicely). The only problems I had with it were that the tip kept bending and the knife snapped in half at the handle when I threw it (oops). I'm thinking about repairing it or turning into a scary looking spear. Overall great knife.

This is a bad looking knife!!! I mean that in the good way. Since it's not full tang, I wouldn't recommend trying to chop down trees with it,but why do some people use a knife to chop down trees anyway?!?! This knife is scary good looking and is very functional. If it were full tang I'd give it five stars. Worth the cost.

Overall, I like the look and shape of this knife. I'm becoming a big Timber Rattler Collector, so I scooped this one up. The positives: Epic size, cool design with the spiked back blade, and good balance. The Cons: This one is made in China as opposed to the usual Pakistan. I never thought I'd write that but after buying many Timber Rattlers that have always been hand made in Pakistan, I find this one lacking just a touch on quality. No brass accents and plain wood scales on the handle. Nylon sheath just doesn't compare to the normal leather one that usually comes with a Timber Rattler. With all that said, I would by this knife again in a heartbeat at the price I paid. Great deals at BUDK with these knives. Very happy overall. This knife is AWESOME! Mine came pretty freakin' sharp. The blade it thinner than most Timber Rattler bowies, so it isn't for chopping trees like some other idiot said he did with his. But this would make a scary self defense knife. The only thing I don't like is the finger spacing. It's made for a very large hand. Other than that, great knife.

I bought this knife a few months back and right now it's just a show piece(due to the blade being on the dull side but after I improve my sharpening I'll be sure to put it to the test) my only issue with it was on its arrival I noticed the the tip was bent to the side which is not that big of a deal but seeing as this was my first purchase from timber rattler left a negative impression, though I'm not holding that against the brand, overall impressed with the knife and will look into buying more from timber

At first sight this is one BIG and BAD knife! The wood handle finish lacks luster and the blade is far from razor sharp . . . but those little discrepancies can easily be fixed. Overall, for the price you can't beat it!

If you're looking for a good quality cheap knife Then this is the blade for you. However, If you are looking for a good quality blade AND sheath Then keep looking. While the blade is good, the sheath is pretty crappy. The strap is Velcro and when I received it, it was bent And had a hard time strapping. As for the blade itself, It is fairly good, The knife came pretty sharp, not SUPER sharp, but sharp enough that I could cut through a 2ltr bottle with minimal effort. Overall rating: Satisfactory

Nice blade that sharpens easly and becumse razer sharp. Big full tang blad. The only problem is the handl materl is loos. I fixed that but i probly wouldent have bot it if i new. It is a beast and it ernd my keep.

Wishing this was full tang and the sheath had a leg strap for stability, but still pretty sweet piece for the price. Don't listen to some of the negative reviews: this knife has one purpose and I'm sure it would succeed in it - sinking deep under a ribcage and ending a confrontation. You're not going to be sawing trees or splitting rocks for goodness sake! If it doesn't succeed in bringing down your enemy, you're probably fighting a robot.

Its a beastly little sword, substantial in the hand, good handle and nice guard. The blade could be a little thicker if it were a short sword but as a knife its perfectly fine. The blade is sharp, the teeth are not sharpened at all. The sheath is excellent for this price. There are more practical knives out there but I would always look at this one and wish I had bought it. For the price its simply awesome. I recently had an occasion to need a big knife to put a hit animal down and though I did not have to, guess which knife I chose. Right. I am glad I got this.

I've bought plenty of items from BudK this was the only one to come chipped on the handle and looked like it had been worn out I have not had any prior problems like this this was the first I was excited about getting this knife and I got let down by the handle being chipped and it looking very very worn

Impressive looking, nice edge, sharp enough, works fine but not a high quality product. The sheath is too tight between the top 2 rivets and the blade resists a bit when the fattest part comes out due to it being too tight. The worst of it though is the loose handle. I can actually tap the wooden handle on one side in the right place and it makes a nice chime sound as it makes contact with the metal. First knife I've ever owned that makes noise when I grab it. Pass on this one, not worth the price and at $20 for a blade that size, that's sayin' a lot!

I got this knife for cutting trees. I went home and starting chopping and half way through a decently moist tree the blade snapped from the handle. The blade on this knife is great but the handle was loose and was poorly designed. If you know how to put a new handle on this knife it would be great

My son tried to cut a dead branch for kindling about 1"1/2 and blade broke where it meets the handle. he was not abusing the knife. not happy

When i first saw this knife, i fell in love with it. I read the reviews that gave it five stars and I got it. After its first use, on a two inch branch, the full tang blade snapped in half. It was super sharp and greatly crafted, but I don't understand why it broke so easily. Everyone said it worked well, but I'm terribly disappointed with BudK right now.

The shipping was quick, but I wouldn't cut butter with it. The blade was dull, so much that it took three passes to slit paper, naturally I sharpened it. I grabbed a dead, moist branch and literally tapped the front of the blade against the rotted stick, the blade cracks near the handle. The upside; budk customer service was willing to send me another immediately, no thanks, that would be shame me. I asked if the price off this could be deducted from my next purchase, budk accommodated my request. It's a freaky looking hunk of aluminum, or what have you, but serves no purpose beyond that.
