This knife set came well sharpened and it was handcrafted very well. These are full tang so they give you tat piece of mind.

PROS: full tang blades, very nice looking set, the wood handle is very nice. Bigger bowie Came sharp, very good quality steel and design.handmade amazing price. CONS: very small imperfections in the handle where they glued it but it comes off with sandpaper. The sheath is very nice looking but is flimsy and holds blades a little loose. This is slightly smaller then the western outlaw bowie , im happy with them to add my timber R. Collection defenitly worth the $18 and was sold out for a long time. Glad back in stock

The large knife is huge yet feels light and is durable.The smaller one can even be thrown with deadly accuracy. Both are perfectly balanced and tough as other high end knifes like kabar and cold steel but for half the price! I couldn't be happier with these.

This is a great knife set i only have one complaint the handle is uncomfortable but after i took a sander to it it felt fine and now its one of my favorites.

I ordered set awhile ago, and just placed order for second set, too good of a value not to have another set for future use, or a gift. This combo does not disappoint, and I am very critical of the quality of knives and sheaths.

This is a great pair of knives, especially for the price. I bought several sets as gifts after purchasing a few other Timber Rattler products. These knives are distinct and functional. This pair offers a great match up of a smaller utility type knife and a jumbo bowie. My sets came plenty sharp and had very few blemishes. I really like this combo over all. The blades and wood handles are very nice. There are a couple of minor flaws on the guards, but that seems to be normal in this price range. The sheath looks great and is of decent quality. The proportions are a little off in the picture. The big one is much larger than the smaller one. Sort of like a mini machete compared to a large pocket knife size on the small one.

I've got four combo sets and this one is by far the most impressive. The big one is very impressive both in appearance and build. The small knife is a mini clone with many functional possibilities. Anyone looking for a sturdy yet highly attractive Bowie combo need look no farther.

I have been dealing with BudK for a few years. In my opinion Timber Rattler not only do they put out excellent knives, they don't belittle you with a nylon sheath. You can proudly strap on that leather sheath and carry a beautiful surgicle steel blade. My wife gets a kick out of me carrying on over this pair of knives. Bought two sets of these because of all the glowing 5 star reviews. Either most of the reviews are paid/fake or I got a bad batch. None of the knives were very sharp out of the box. Both of the large knives I received were burred and gouged along the blade edge as if someone had already used them for chopping wood. They also had overrun from the wood stain onto the metal in several spots and one of the knives had several small rust spots already forming. The steel on one knife also had a tarnished spot about the size of a pea. Other reviewers have stated that their sheaths were either too loose or too tight - I received one of each. One of the sheaths had a one inch gash that looked like someone dropped the tip of the large knife on it while packaging. The other sheath had a weak point on the clasp for the large knife where the leather was pulling apart out of the box. I expect it to break after 2-3 removals of the knife. Another reviewer stated that the small knife would make a deadly thrower. The small knives are very handle-heavy, no where near being balanced and l would never attempt to throw these. Pros: the knives are huge. They're full tang. The steel is decent quality for the price. The sheathes seem sturdy and well stitched, except for the defect mentioned above. For the price, I definitely wasn't expecting a $100 knife, which is why this still gets 2 stars. But the list of defects is too long to give these more than that, especially since both sets had multiple defects. Maybe this is a bad run, maybe I got knives that were returned (however, they don't show any signs that would indicate wear from use aside from the edges). I had hoped to keep one set and give another as a gift and I wouldn't be comfortable giving either one of these sets away. I guess I'll be retouching and sharpening them for my own collection.
