My sons and I wear these around our neck when we wade fish in Florida. They are sharp and securely snap into the holder. Great price!

I am satisfied with this knife, it will never fall out of its sheath. It comes reasonably sharp but you can make it sharper if you have sharpening devices.

The Knife itself is great. It's sharp, stays that way, it's a good size. Its one-sided grind makes it useful for small prying jobs as well. My ONLY real beef with it....the sheath/case. It is solid, and the blade stays in well, but the Whistle part is silly and the lanyard is a simple string. Would be better if it was at least paracord, the string kind of cuts into your neck, particularly when you sweat. I am giving it a 5 Star, but its really more of a 4.5.

Purchased two of these recently. The pros: Feel very comfortable in the hand Sturdy neck lanyard Whistle built into the sheath Very light weight Very affordable Plastic sheath very waterproof The cons: Edge is more dull than a butter knife Stainless blade more difficult to sharpen, but can eventually be able to shave paper Overall I would buy these again. Just be prepared to spend some time to get an edge on them

Well worth the price. The quality is better than I thought and the size is bigger than I thought. Decent blade for simple EDC set up.

Just received my first BudK order in a long time, spent $100 (best gift card ever) and I am not disappointed. If you're a fan of edged weapons/tools THIS $3 knife...holy cow so much fun. The edge was waffled out of the box. Rolled over so hard for most of the blade that you could have tripped over it. lol I knew it would need work and I find sharpening to be cathartic. I also had a new Lansky Blademedic (BM) which made short work of honing this blade to damn sharp. Smooth to the edge and touches up quickly now. Not the best edge retention but did I mention the price? Take off a tenth of a point for the handle being just a tad short. Probably 1/2" or less imo. Great order filler, great buy!

it is exactly what it is , its a small sized neck knife that comes in a really decent full plastic sheath and it has a whistle built in the bottom of the sheath ,, its really tiny so do not expect something huge , but it is perfect for your neck or back pocket and or your boot if you rig it right in there , other then that it is light in weight because of it's size and is perfect for concealment on any part of your body or tactical jackets or vest . this one gets a 5 star just because of its size and concealment

I have recieved this product today and will say it has quite impleased and impressed me to an abnormal level. Its small but a good sized small. For myself, the grip barely went passed the bottom of my hand, and I have a large hands. The blade itself came to feel like soft steel by the feel and was very sturdy. I didnt believe the box when it stated the blade is razor sharp as most knives arent razor sharp but sharp enough to cut. I shit you not, I was cutting open a case of water and the blade barely touch the finger and it was fast and i absolutely sliced through my finger in a clean deep cut that hurt like a son of a bitch. The case to the knife that holds the knife is hard plastic and feels somewhat sturdy and has a whistle that is loud and works phenomenaly. The knife goes into the case smoothly until you get to the button part and it just clicks on securely and taking it out is easy. The rope it comes with is very weak. Its thinner and weaker than your average hoodie. It still holds good as of now as I hang it from my neck inside my hoodie, my finger knife tied to my boots and my karambit in my pocket. The blades grips on the handle grip itself are two semi weak plastic pieces and would break off of the handles if dropped. The overall knife rating I would say 9/10. You cant beat the extremely cheap price for such an astoundishly impressive making product thats a boot knife. Im conidering buying a couple more just to have in seperate places.

Now, it's a nice little necker, I bought it for a friend... And to bring my order up a little more to meet the requirements of a discount code. It's not the most amazing thing in the world, but it's got a fully metal tang, and a whistle. Can't complain. BUT! The one thing you should know is that the edge is only ground on one side. That is, one side of the blade is flat, and the other tapers down to meet it. Like this: |\ Now, these kinds blades cut a little differently. Not bad, just different. Some fancy chef knives are ground like this. So this knife is a fun little gift, great for meeting the requirements of coupon codes, but this won't be your everyday carry, dependable blade. In a pinch it'll work, but, it's not the best. For the price though? What can you expect? It's not a horrible knife, really, it's a steal.

You can wrap paracord around the inside of the frame of the knife to get a comfortable handle, I was able to wrap paracord around the handle nicely without needing a video to do so. These would make nice cheap gifts for your survivalist and/or prepper friends!, Really neat!

I received this knife a couple of months back. You get what you pay for! If you want a cheap knife that will technically work with enough force, then this knife is for you. It's only sharpened on one side. The other side is flat. The whistle does work, and the sheath holds the knife good (for now). I don't have much faith in it lasting though, but only time will tell. For $3 it's price helps me overlook some of the defects, but like I said, you get what you pay for.

Great knife. Sharp. Good condition. Worth the money. Replacing the lace with paracord. One air bubble in the blade. Black paint chips easily. Whistle works. Very concealable. Comes with funny knot already tied I cut it and did a survival knot on the knife between the two holes. Fast shipping. I did not engrave it because emgraving the knife would make it weaker. Fast deployment and light. Great all-around everyday survival knife. Thank you.

This knife always caught my eye while going through the website I figured why not just get it, we'll I finally did and it pretty happy with it! It's a little bigger than expected but still low profile when wearing it, the only think I wasn't happy with is it was it's only sharpened on one side? Overall for a $3 knife why the heck not! I already have a good neck knife I'll probably just gift this! Thanks budk

I guess at 3.00 I figured it was garage, well I was wrong. Amazing little knife for the money. Both sides are sharpened... Well kinda. Won't take much to make it like I want. Well made and solid. I picked up two and going to get four more at least. First I will sharpen these two. Don't wait like I did jump on this sweet deal!! Blessings all !!

Out of all honesty, this is the most comfortable neck knife I've ever owned, even more so than the higher end neck knives I've owned. In my opinion you are getting more value with this knife than the 2.98 your paying for it.

Nice little knife to have around your neck for hiking in the woods. Hand when needed, and the whistle is better then screaming your head off if you do need help or if you just want to make noise to let the bears know you're around. Not a loud whistle but adequate. Unsure why it comes with just the one side beveled to create the edge. Perhaps someone could explain that one to me. It is sharp enough to do the job, but just seems strange.

For 3 dollars, you really can't beat the thing. The sheath is very sturdy, holds the knife in place. The blade wiggles a bit inside the sheath, but it's very securely set in the sheath and won't fall out. Seems very sturdy, and perfect as a discreet neck knife to take with you anywhere. It came very sharp, but I'm very disappointed about the way the edge is sharpened. It only has one side sharpened. I don't know why someone doesn't take the time to make these a normal edge, that's the only thing that keeps the knife from being perfect for me. Still, 3 bucks, and you get an amazing self defense knife and it can certainly do basic utility stuff. If you just want a self defense knife, this is probably the best knife out there. If you want more utility ability, get the kabar neck knife. One small thing, the cord it comes with is rather weak and stretchy. It's adequate, but I put paracord on mine. All in all, an amazing deal.

For the Price this is a great knife and I have given many of them as presents, the whistle in the sheath is a great idea! it sharpens nice and is not too large for an EDC now on the bad side it only has a sharp angle on one side of the blade, one side of the knife is flat, no angle not a factory gring at all flat as flat can be if you notice there are no pictures of the backside I think it is for this reason, now I have bought many of them and will buy more just don't be surprized by the flat side, for the price it's a good knife, noting in the great line at all but good. "Buck" could have a hit here if they spent an extra 20 seconds on it and put a factory grind on the other side of the blade. that all being said it is a good knife and I will be getting more of them!

I've had mine for about a year now and it falls out of the sheath everyone once and a while, and a knife in the foot isn't very expectable. I didn't really pull it out that much but after about 2 to 3 months it was poor at holding it the holster. it also only comes with 1 side sharpened (which means it will dull quicker) but again it was only 3 bucks so who cares. On a happier note, the knife was always fun to pull off my neck and look cool while doing it. It was just a knife for around the house stuff. Now, I just have it in my bug-out-bag for quick use if I'm ever attacked by an animal or such. I still love the thing till this day and don't plan on throwing it away!

I just shipped this neck knife to a Facebook friend living in England along with a Budk kubaton keychain and Budk Brutus keychain for his protection due to the recent problems across the pond. I've bought many of these neck knives as gifts over the years...keep em coming Budk!

Was a little dull but that was an easy fix. Solid full tang. Much heavier, and larger then the price tag suggests. Once sharpened, it really could save your life, even if you don't have pockets you never are under knifed with this one.

Bought this after reading the reviews and let me tell ya. It exceeded my expectations. I've used it from outside yard work to cutting my gf's steak up for her. For 3 bucks you can't go wrong. Highly recommended! Only downside of this knife is that the finish wore off mine pretty quickly but other then that it's great. Buy this knife! (Matt videen) (WI)

So, I work in an office. I don't fight zombies. I don't talk about last ditch weapons or concealment. I don't wear tacti-cool anything. When it comes to my public persona, I'm simply not that interesting. I do, however, like to be prepared for just about anything, I like good blades, and I keep them on hand for all sorts of purposes. I bought this knife thinking, "It'll be a handy little knife to attach to my tool belt" - and boy is it ever! Quick on the draw, great retention, a sharp edge when I might need one, small enough to stay out of the way but fully functional. Came out of the box reasonably sharp - 5 minutes with me and it was a little razor. Forget attaching it to my tool belt - I ground off the whistle, wet-formed a belt attachment to it, and voila - I have a virtually invisible knife at the small of my back under my sensible suit. I'm buying 2 more for my tool belt and to attach to my suspension rig. Everyone should have this knife about them.

I have 2 of these. They're strong, and functional. Great ABS sheath with good retention. I wonder why there's no mention of the emergency whistle molded into the end of the sheath? It's not even labeled on the packaging... Probably 'cause you don't really need a whistle if you're gripping one of these...

Got this on sale for 2.98. I thought it was going to be thin and cheap. It is not!! Great quality for the price. The plastic sheath locks great and is pretty thick. The knife isn't too thin or flimsy. Overall a great purchase!

This thing is awesome! Even if it was still $6 it would be worth it! Good quality, tough, sharp, and the sheath has a little whistle on the end haha! I Should have gotten more seeing how they are so unbelievably cheap! Thank you budk! Keep up the good work.

$3 a pop! I'm laughing all the way to the bank. 5 stars for what it is, a small sharp little knife. Doesn't claim to be top of the line but good none the less. Don't make the same mistake I did, get at least half a dozen, you will be handing them out like candy to your buddies.

The 3 1/8" 420 steal blade is easy to sharpen. Blade locks firmly in place in plastic sheath. Also comes with built in whistle. Ideal for my wife and sisters for conceal carry with micro para cord necklace. I truly believe this is a great knife. I have purchased 4 and going to get a few more.

I have 2, one my son carries. Stays in sheath great. This is a small sharp knife that can really do some damage if used in the right places for personal defense. If used wrong, you may just tick them off. I'd use this alternative last but better to have than to be sorry. These are called neck knives for more than one reason. Aim high.

This is, both for its bang-to-buck ratio and its basic value as a knife, my favorite of all the knives I own. Note that all of my knives are in the $0-$25 range, but also note that for the cost of my $25 knife I could have gotten 16 of these amazing puppies in a BOGO sale (figured at $3 ea. and rounding, 25 / 3 * 2). While the description correctly states that the handle is ABS plastic, this is a full-tang knife with, essentially, a huge cutout in the handle which is itself fitted with a plastic insert of a similarly cut-out design. This kick-ass design feature means that the knife retains nearly all of its strength and sturdiness while reducing its weight by, as a guess, around 40%. This is important for concealed carry purposes because it reduces the shirt stretching caused by something dangling around your neck bouncing around as you move. Since this knife is longer than your typical neck knife, the importance of this factor is increased. This brings me immediately to my one complaint about this knife, which is not actually about the knife itself, but the sheath (which is otherwise superbly designed as well): there is a molded-in whistle located at the top of the neck sheath that adds considerable bulk for, imho, not a lot of return. While having an emergency whistle is, all else being equal, a good thing, here all else is not equal. First, as a quick-use emergency device, this whistle is no handier or quicker to use than one carried, say, in your pocket, and, in most scenarios that I can envision, considerably more troublesome or even dangerous. So, given the bulkiness of it, I have opted to take a hacksaw and slice the whistle off level with the rest of the sheath (even females should have little problem doing this, since ABS is among the softer types of plastic). The snap lock design that uses only friction and the native resiliency of the plastic to hold the blade secure in its sheath while hanging upside down and being bounced around--sometimes violently--works better than anything else I can imagine. The blade fits hand-in-glove and is held there firmly, with absolutely no play whatsoever. Only a sudden, sharp yank of sufficient force will easily release it. Enough gradual force applied would eventually release it, too, but the yank method is what you want to use in a confrontation or emergency situation, so the unsheathing method here is perfectly suited for its purpose. Re-sheathing is a two-handed affair, but that's really a negligible price to pay in exchange for the benefits. Another downside I just remembered: a fine but sturdy chain (fine so you dont cut your neck) would be preferable to paracord here because paracord stretches. The stretching causes uncertainty in the unsheathing process, since youre not exactly sure when the release point will be reached until it happens, causing you to pull down with all your might right from the start just to be sure it happens. Your neck may complain about this. Moreover, the recoil of the sheath from the release point, which is already considerable, is made even worse by this procedure. Luckily, you should be able to afford to buy a cheap neck chain with the money youre saving on the knife and still come out ahead of the game. The blade itself is strong for its small size, being flat on one side and beveled only on the other, and since there is only one side to sharpen, I have found it easier to attain a razor-like finish with it than with my dual-sided blades. Ymmv, however. It still took some work as the blade is fairly thick. The tanto point, which I don't like in bigger knives, somehow works to this knife's benefit--mostly, I think, by not getting in the way and making things more difficult, or slowing down the process. (Here again, though, ymmv. I don't even know what the purpose of a tanto point is. It may have some real, practical application I've never encountered before.) Hence, I am able to use this knife as a neck-carry pocket knife (lol), for all kinds of general purpose cutting jobs, and it works great. I guess, in the end, thats what I love about it: for $3 I get a blade that performs equally well as a general purpose cutting tool and a self-defense weapon which can be carried out of sight (probably illegally in my state, like most things that might proportionately help protect me from bad people). Moreover, it doesn't clunk and clank around in my pocket or hang on my waist trying to pull my pants down like other knives do. All in all, this is a nearly perfect knife for self-defense and most everyday cutting chores, and it will lastva good, long time. Where else on earth can you get a near-perfect knife, or product of any sort for that matter, for under three dollars? BudK is the only place I know of...

The price is right. Good quality also. Come on, everybody, this knife is one to have, really! They come nice and sharp. It is a full-tang, skeletonized style handle with a tough synthetic cover over the handle and a solid, snap-in / out style sheath, also of tough synthethic material. They are lightweight, but very solid. they are big enough to fit well in your hand, and small enough to wear concealed under a short-sleeved summer shirt! I have bought three or four for myself plus a few more for gifting to my friends and grandsons ( my kids always chew me out for giving knives to my young grandsons. Hey, all i have to do is buy 'em now and give 'em later when they're a little older. These may be one of THE BEST BUYS at BudK.

I did not expect much for #$3. I was very shocked by this knife. The lanyard is not the best, but that can be replaced if needed, The sheath is very strong, has a great fit and coupling with the knife. The whistle is a good addition as well. The knife is a good size and very sturdy. The one side edge is new to me but I will get used to it. The blade has a pretty good edge on it out of the box. I will use this knife a lot.

Full tang knife is always a good thing and the weight is right for around the neck. I will change out the cord to make it stronger. My only issue is the blade had no edge upon arrival so that was fixed.

Tactical Warrior full tang neck knife is a great little tool to have it is of Tanto blade design overall size of 6 7/8"s it fits comfortable in my big mits which did surprise me... The sheath also double's as a whistle at the lower end of the sheath which is a good thing to have if you are lost in the woods while hiking or your party have gone in a different direction... Using the whistle will help you save your voice and you won't blow out your pipes and the whistle will travel further in distance and call out in more intervals making your chances being that much greater... TIP: when using the neck knife make sure that you are aware of how you are placing your sheath around your neck if you want to have the mold of the knife showing you must make sure that when removing the knife from the sheath that you flip it over first then remove the knife... Otherwise you will find that the blade of the knife will run across your thumb which can course injury or you can wear the sheath the other way around...

I bought 4 of the to give away as gifts. The are real nice for a around 3 dollar knife. The one bad side about it is that the lanyard string is not that good but i cut it off and changed it for paracord it worked good my friends and family love them. I might have to get some more.

I was pleasantly surprised by this knife. I bought it thinking it would be another piece of $3 crap off budk but it isn't at all. I mean it's not the best knife or the one I would want in a survival situation but it is very good for the price. It is sharp although it is only sharpened on one side of the blade rather than both, which is an indication of a cheap knife. It was good to have a knife that you don't need to worry about messing up and this is the one. I like it. I took off the neck strap thing just cuz that's not my style but overall it's pretty good. The whistle sucks though. It makes a good gift or just a knife to beat up on. I suggest it. Its better than spending your $3 on a bag of chips.

The blade was bigger than I expected, and despite a thin handle frame, it feels very well built! The sheath is great to work with too. The blade locks in place and the whistle on the other side can come in handy as well. I plan to make an arm strap for the sheath for better functionality.

Bought this for my single daughter. She had a small 2" pocket knife, with thumb nail open. A little slow for protection. This high quality steel neck knife is sharp. Easy to access, fits well in the hand. Plus the sheath is also a whistle. Helps me sleep easier knowing she has protection within reach at all times. Now to buy three more for my sisters and wife.

I bought 2 of these knives at different times, this is possibly the best 3 bucks I have ever spent on a knife. I read some of the reviews and I cant understand why some folks complained about it not being sharp, both of mine were sharp enough the neck string was also ample to hold the sheath as its designed to be lightweight. heck for 3 bucks you can barely buy a softdrink and chips.. you really have to be a cheap azz not to appreciate this one, thanks budk I am happy!

I purchased two of these knives and they arrived a couple days ago. I looked at both of them and they were pretty sharp out the box so I took one of the knives and sharpened it really quick and now its sharp. I wrapped the handle and sheath in 550 paracord and wrapped over the whistle (I have a very loud whistle) and I finished the wrap on the sheath by making a neck lanyard.

Just got this little knife in the mail today and tried it out a bit. The knife is small, as is expected with a neck knife and stays very securely in the sheath. The whistle built into the sheath is worthless but who cares about that? Overall, the knife is comfortable and only needed a little sharpening to get it to where I like it. For the price, what is there to lose? Go for it!

Good little knife however I didn't expect it to be quit this small, still good over all.One thing I Did do to the knife was sharpen the Top of the back of the blade(the none cutting edge) with a smith diamond sharpener on the course side a litte bit,It made the tip much more pointy. For the price You should get 2.

Great little knife. Sheath seems very sturdy. The knife did come a little dull but sharpened up to a razor edge nicely. Sheath has a built in whistle. There are no moving parts on the whistle so the sound is made purely through forced air which does require a fairly strong blow to get good sound compared to a traditional whistle. It does get loud if you blow hard enough. Knife feels pretty solid despite the skeleton handle. It is also well balanced and throwable - though it is very low weight and not the most effective throwing knife. The only major drawback in the lanyard string. It is extremely stretchy. So much so that I would never try to unsheath the knife while around my neck for fear of the sheath springing up and smacking me in the face. The cord definitely needs to be replaced to wear around a neck. Otherwise, it's great as is for a boot knife or something to carry in your pocket.

I ordered 4 if these little guys & wish I ordered twice as many. Very pleased with the knife. Fairly sharp out of the box but doesn't take much extra sharpening to make it like a razor. The knife locks nice and tight into the sheath so no worries about it ever falling out. Also the whistle works great. To the gentleman that said his didn't, there is a small plastic piece that fits inside the whistle to make it work. Yours must have fallen out & you didn't notice it. Two out of the 4 I ordered had that piece fall out. Luckily I noticed it fall. So to anyone that has this problem, just lightly push the piece inside the whistle opening. Just dab a little super glue on it if it keeps falling out. This is the only bad thing I have to say about this knife but really it's the sheath's fault and nothing to do with the actual knife. My opinion is if you want a kick butt knife for less than $5 or need several gifts for family and friends, don't hesitate one bit to purchase these awesome little knives. I would be very happy if I received one as a gift. Thanks and happy buying. BudK rules!

This is an awesome knife for the price. With a couple minor mods, it makes a great tactical backup knife. I removed the whistle with a dremel, and repleced the string with 550 paracord. The knife arrived dull, but after a few swipes on the lansky, it was sharp enough. I did some abusive testin, such as stabbing cardboard and batoning through small logs, and it held up fine and kept its edge. Highly recommended!

I loved this knife, I bought one for my self, one for my brother, and one for my cousin. My brother kind of beat his up, but it still works suberbly. I noticed only after I got it that it was only indented on one side, which led me to think it was only sharpened on one side. Truthefully it kind of is, but regardless it works great and serves as an exellent utility and self defence knife.

This is a fantastic little knife! I was looking for something to use to harvest with in my garden when I bought this neat little piece. What I got was the newest addition to my every day carry! This knife is the epitome of simplicity. It is not elaborate, but just simple enough to get the job done. It comes fairly sharp and ready to go. A cool surprise is that the included sheath can be used as an emergency whistle. It takes a strong puff of air but the sound is makes is piercing and clear! The lanyard is a simple cheap piece of cord but can be easily removed and replaced with a chain or 550 cord. The handle is basically just a plastic plate over the full tang but it is enough to allow for solid grip. The best part of the handle is the textured cutouts for the thumb and forefinger. They are positioned perfectly for maximum grip and leverage, plus the knife can be easily flicked from the sheath with one hand from the thumb grip position without removing it from your neck. The action is so natural that I sat and flipped it in and out of the sheath for several minutes simply admiring how functional and aesthetically pleasing this little gadget is for a knife under $3. If you get this one with penny shipping it is an absolute steal. Even if you're ordering something else, toss one in the cart as it will quickly become one of your favorite workhorses. The only draw back is that the knife is a little large to be concealed under the shirt. It fits well but it can be obvious what is hidden under your shirt. Nevertheless, this is a great investment for $3! Bottom line--buy yourself one and get a couple extras for the holidays.

I bought this knife just because I was placing an order for some other items with BUDK and figured another $3, can't go wrong. Well, it turned out to be one of my favorite knives. It came razor sharp out of the box. The sheath is worth more than $3 alone. The blade fits very nicely in the sheath. I have seen similar products to this one for many times the cost. But, there is no need to spend more than $3. This knife is perfect for hiking, backpacking etc. I have had this knife for 3 years, and have been very rough on it just because I know I can replace it for $3 if I need to. But, I haven't done any damage to the knife or the sheath during all of the heavy usage. With this knife you have only $3 to loose and solid utility/survival knife to gain. Just buy one.

What a fine knife. I bought two. Then two more. I wear both the original ones together at a time. I shortened the neck cords a little so both worn knives dangle just behind my long beard. When and if the tail of the handles are exposed they looks like some kind of offbeat necktie as a result of the two knife handle ends seen together. I've had smaller non-BUDK knives but lost most of them as a result of their falling out of their plastic sheaths. This knife securely clips into its plastic case. I like the serrated area where the thumb parks on the top on the blade. I like the slenderness of the handle which still provides for a good purchase. It is ideally shaped. Good color, too. Black! Very useful. I use 'em to open postal mail and packages. They are ultra handy for that. Always right at hand. Truly handy! Was wanting knoves like these a long time.

Just got this today (about 10 minutes ago actually) and I'm not disappointed at all. It's got an angled-grind, which I didn't expect. But that makes for a thicker knife, and it's also easier to manufacture, which is probably why it's so inexpensive. It wasn't as sharp as I like my knives to be, but I literally ran it over a diamond stone 3 strokes per side and it's shaving sharp. I like how it really locks into the sheath. No worries about this one falling out in your shirt. It'll fit the purpose I bought it for perfectly. I highly recommend it, especially for this price. Thanks Bud K!!

Knife came very sharp. Fits in sheath very well, way better than expected. However, whistle doesn't work, wish they would have left it off so it was more concealable and put a belt clip on it for tip-down carry. Worth far more than $3.00.

This knife is a fantastic little piece to carry around. The neck sheath is comfortable and it is definitely concealed, even under a t-shirt. My only complaint is that the whistle didnt work. But that was easily remedied by cutting it off, which also gave the sheath a slimmer profile. The knife itself is well made and the blade can easily be sharpened to have a razor edge.

What a cool little tanto! If want to purchase a neck knife then this is the one you want. It's a little larger than I initially expected. The knife itself is pretty sharp and about as good as it gets for 6 dollars. The case with the whistle built in is also well made, and the knife locks in firmly. The only thing that's pretty cheap is the string to put around your neck. Other than that it's a good buy!

with a little bit of practice, you can equip this knife to use in under 3 seconds. The cord for your neck is strong. if you really wanted to be lucrative, you could use 20+lb test fishing line as the necklace lol. This knife is faster equipped than pulling a pocket knife out and unfolding it. there is a smith and wesson one that is like a duplicate of this but i see similar reviews on it, id say buy this one. 11$ total. you can not go wrong.

IF I had found this knife for sale in a retail store(without knowing of how cheap it was here), let's just say I would've paid up to $10 for it if that's what it was worth, if that says anything about it. I'm a collector, so I've not used this knife in any practical way(Or any way at all, actually), so I can't comment on how well it does whatever you'd want to do with it. I will say that it comes RAZOR SHARP out of the box. One night I took one out of it's case, and I was careless and grabbed it wrong. On it's way out of the case, the knife sliced my thumb pretty bad. It was so bad I thought I'd need stitches! I was surprised at how sharp this knife was! The knife is pretty light weight, but keep in mind if you're gonna be carrying it around your neck, it's not featherweight. I did a para-cord wrap on the handles of both of mine and they are pretty sweet! If I'm going out and mi

For the money this is a great knife. I bought 2 when they were under $2. One in my truck for emergency and one in my hunting vest for emergency. Very well built little knife. Very sharp right out of the box. As a backup utility knife it is perfect or an everyday use knife also. Buy 1 or 2 and keep 'em handy. Sheath comes with a built in whistle. Does not work very good but I didn't buy it for that. lol

This is the best neck knife you can buy it stays in its sheath and come out easily it seems to be more for stabbing but you can sharpen it if you want. Another thing is its also a whistle but the whistle isn't that good.

I picked this up because it was cheap and I was ordering other knives and decided I could use this at work. I wrap it around my belt and when I have to cut through boxes this blade never dulls I may pick up a couple more for friends and family because of its sheer shock and awe of its value.

Smaller than I expected, but I should've read the description. I'm a big fan of how tightly the knife sticks in the sheath. I put it around my neck, drop it under my shirt, and it hangs just low enough that all I have to do is reach up under my shirt and "Where'd that knife come from???" Its got a nice edge and is light-weight and low-profile. I used to want one of those knives that sheathed in a shoulder harness upside down, this gives me the same comfortable quick-draw conceal-ability, and not only is it quicker, its cheaper!

I could repeat what everyone else said but I won't. I'll just say this; I'm a true to live survivalist and have tested hundreds of knives in harsh conditions, and this one lasted me years as a good utility/back-up knife. Full tang and with the holes in the handle lashing it to a large branch or walking stick to make a spear is way too easy. Get a handful of these babies.

An amazing knife for just under $2. Extremely durable, the sheath is good, there's a whistle on the sheath but doesn't work, not really a problem. Its under $2 anyways so I'm not complaining, its highly concealable too.

I bought a few of these and wish I'd bought more. The price is unbelievable. The knife is almost invisible when worn under a baggy shirt. It is pretty dull out of the box, but it is only sharpened on one side so it should be easy to hone. Buy as many as you can afford because when your friends see yours, they'll want one too.

We picked this one up as a just see type item. At 1.98 we were not expecting too much but we are impressed. I travel a great deal to the Twin Cities and having this around my neck laying just under the shirt along with my cell phone stun gun I feel I have a better line of defense. The full tang knife is durable with a lock in feature to its sheath. For 1.98 you cannot go wrong and I would even pay more for this little guy!

2 Dollars? I ordered 4. I have to say it's a cool little blade. The full tang construction makes this knife sturdy and the grips are just right. Hang it around your neck, keep one in the glove box, put one with your tools, keep one in your suitcase....... this knife is a must have. I plan on putting a nice edge on them keeping them handy. This is really a nice neck knife. Especially for $2 you can't go wrong. The quality is very good. Comes with a sharp blade that snaps tightly into the neck sheath. It's a little larger than most neck knives but not bulky. I would recommend buying extra to use as gifts.

at this price, i couldn't resist buying 2, i figured they'd be cheap little utility knives. i was so wrong, they are amazingly sharp with a single bevel. my only complaint is that the bevel is on the left side of the blade, making it more of a lefty knife, other than that, i'm very satisfied

This is a MUST buy knife. Excellent price for great item. Can't go wrong. Buy 2 or 3, why not? Great back up knife and very handy when its around your neck. I go for hikes in the desert and give whoever hikes with me one to wear too. There is also a built in whistle on the knife sheath, doesn't work the greatest all the time, you got to work at it to make it whistle, but when you do its loud. Great in case you get lost or need help. Full Tang construction, solid, and sharp. An absolute for any outdoor adventure.

I like these knives a lot! I've had them before, But after about a year they lost like their edge entirely. I used mine for hunting and all the stuff on those guide lines. I got this knife a few days ago and it's simply amazing. It had a great edge already, but after I ran it through my Accusharp, well... it's f****** deadly. The case holds the knife better than you would think. The string is weak but easily replaceable. I personally like the handle, but if I wanted to wrap it, I feel as if it would be a sturdy wrap do to the shape(as well as the two holes in the handle). Thanks BUDK, this is a steal beyond imagination. Editor's Note: Thank you for your comments. We have updated the review to reflect the appropriate materials.

This knife is great!! I bought two and both the sheaths got a crack in them immediately but that didn't stop them from working at all, the whistle is worthless I would rather stab an assailant then whistle at them anyway, but the knife is single edged and came razor sharp out of the box, I carry this knife with me everywhere and with slight adjustment on the string it fits very comfortably I have forgotten that I was wearing it before!!! the handle is small in case it would indeed need to be used for defense but with a razor edge it'll do the job, it makes a great utility knife. A steal at the price I will be purchasing several more, great job BudK!!

I have only had this knife a couple of weeks now, I must say that for such a small blade it is quite sharp. I did touch it up a bit, all it took was a couple of strokes on my sharpener and it had razor edge.........NOW, that's what I call a sharp knife. I wear this on a daily basis, I have a nice SOG folder that I had been carrying, but it now sits on my night stand, and the tactical warrior neck knife is my constant companion. I now have my own knife shop that is just a click away, I can now choose which blade I would like, a couple more clicks and its on its way. Well done BUDK, you have a customer for life.

I really like this knife, the look, how sharp it was delivered. Good knife overall. One small thing i didn't care for is when you put the knife in the holder and take it out it scrapes off some of the black paint whatever on the knife.

This thing is a great knife!!!! fits well in the hand and comes very sharp!!!! Stays in the sheath well and great for the neck. Only downside is the "string" it comes with, put some 550 cord on there! For a $1.98 you should get 16545612112521 of them!

This product met my expectations and then some. I bought 4 and will likely buy more and continue to gift them to friends. I have no experience with neck knives, but I do have a bunch of cutlery and I believe these will serve their purpose as backpacking utility knives. Great Buy. Sharp out of the box. My only complaint is it cant be used as a boot knife. It fits snug in its sheath and will stay even while running. Good for self def. It cut through 1-2 inches of wet memory foam in a good slash. For $5 its greatly worth. I suggest two, one for each hand.

Great knife for the price! Feels good, and my only concern is the way it snaps into the sheath. Feels secure while simply holding it, but I'd be concerned about it falling out during any physical activity.<br /><br />As usual, not the sharpest coming out of the packaging but it'll be serviceable with the standard sharpening. And anyone with a sharpening stone could touch it up to their liking.

It's exactly as described - a handy neck knife, with ABS sheath and lanyard. It's got a great edge, right out of the box. It fits snugly in the sheath, with no rattling. There's a rescue whistle integrated into the holster. It's easy to deploy. The handle shape and ridges are perfect for gripping. It's decent grade steel for general usage. The low profile finish is nice. I replaced the cheap string with some decent paracord, to make it beefier. I actually don't wear them around the neck, but keep them stashed around the house where I need them for utility or defense. I even have one hanging from my rearview mirror, of each of my cars. Excellent value!

great little knife, i use it alot to open mail, packages, rope, and other stuff. i like the fact that i can conceal it :D theres a useless whistle on the sheath. only one edge is ground. i had to shorten the lanyard, it was WAY too long, aside from some silly stuff like that, i love it.

This is a lightweight knife that's actually sharp and although small it can be comfortably and securely held in the hand. I can't think of another neck knife that's as good for $3. You can't really beat that. Ideal for self defense. I bought three and I think I'll pass the other two on to lady friends of mine as others have said they've done.

I have damaged hands so I need a handy utility knife for opening soda cans with tabs, and boxes and everyday tasks. The plastic sheath was a little too tight to release so I took a diagonal cutter and trimmed just a slight bit off the knobs holding the knife in its sheath. Now I often wear this around my neck and it is very unassuming and stealthy in plain sight. For $ 3.99 it gets 4 stars, If it was just a little more heavy-duty with a thicker handle, it would get five-stars.

Cool little knife. Sharp as hell; passed the paper test (and the skin test lol). Point is blunted a bit but the blade edge is sharp. Cool that its scabbard is also a whistle. But it’s an inexpensive knife for a reason. It’s my first neck knife so I’m not super worried about it. It does rattle but it doesn’t bother me. If you’re looking for a cheap knife there are far worse ones out there. I suggest the CRKT karambit neck knife here if you’re looking for better quality.

The two I ordered arrived promptly and in generally good condition. I realize they are very inexpensive and I get what I pay for, so I'm not going to complain. I'm just going to do my part to inform future consumers. The tips on both are slightly flattened/rounded. They're not pointed. The blades are not very sharp out of the box. One failed the envelope test. I may have too high an expectation, but in the past even cheap knives I have bought were pretty sharp out of the box. These are both issues I can address in my shop. Also, as form fitting as the notch is to hold the blade in the scabbard, it does rattle a bit. If you are looking for a good price on a knife that won't bum you out too much if you lose it, I can recommend this knife. If you are looking for something you can put your name on and pass down to your grandkids, spend more.

I do like the size of the grip and blade. The notches for your thumb and pointer help against slipping. The extra engraving is clear, if a bit odd for its chosen side. It was carved on the curved side blade instead of the flat side, plus since I'm right handed it is on the inside. This is not a negative thing, just an odd placement since most people are right handed and if you hold it the words are facing you...whatever, it's still cool. The four stars are for the fact that the blade rattles in the plastic sheath. A bit of cheap velvet placed inside before the sheath is finished would have done wonders for this, but I must find my own method of padding the inside to silence the rattle. That and after a few uses it doesn't seem as sharp as it could be either. It's a good thing I have a blade sharpener, but still.... Overall a good neck blade in a pinch.

Blade is good, the gimping on the handle gives it a really good grip however mine had some extra bumps that dig into my fingers that made it uncomfortable overtime. The whistle however , has a little plastic block in it that I have to rearrange every time I want to make it work. Superglue can fix that permanently though.

I've had the knife little over a year. Sheath holds it in place well, doesn't slip, never had the knife fall out. I've done physical labor and it carries well especially around the neck under a T-shirt. It was only chamfered on one side, but I used a file and smoothed it out. After sharpening, honing, and stropping it with leather it's sharp enough to cut paper and course arm hair. The blade however isn't high quality so the edge must be touched up regularly after any use.

Positive: very light, nice sheath, inexpensive. Negative: No edge, needed to use belt sander and a lot of work to to some what sharp.

Was gonna give it two, then I remembered it was only $3. The sheath is okay, problem is the whistle piece fell out. Steel is a bit sub par, couldn't seem to put a good edge on it. The cord is too stretchy, it came back and hit me in the face when I tried to pull the knife. Good if you want a letter opener, but if you seriously intend on carrying this for self-defense, invest some money in a good night.

Came out of the box a littlw dull and it is only beveled on one side wich lowers cost but sacrifices edge retention and sharpness but all in all for three buck you would be stupid not to buy one for a quick handy little knife mine has even survived a few trips to the ocean. The greatest thing about this knife is that is is so cheap yet sturdy you can beat it up and not feel bad so for a real beater it is very nice.

if anybody is worried about the price of this knife and how good it is put your worries to rest, this is a great little knife for a second blade, tight sheath, full tang constructon. Everyone who places a BUD K order should snag one of these for $3. You literally can't buy a quality nail file for this price. Full Tang, Solid, and Grippy, with a nice little snap in sheath. Like others say, definitely needs an upgrade on the cord, but for the price, you can put what you want on it. My little whistle kinda came apart, but easy fix. Piece of paracord and a bit of sharpening and this one is another Bud K Must Buy in my opinion.

It hasn't left my neck since it arrived several weeks ago. It dives me a sense of comfort to know it is always there for me to slice open mail, boxes and if need be, to puncture with. I wish I could give it 5 stars but try as I might with my Smith sharpener I can't get it very sharp. In fact all I've managed to do is to form a dull bead of one side of the balde. So, I doubt it will ever be razor sharp, but for what it is and what it DOES do it is fine. I wondered if the neck lanyard was strong enough to withstand the force needed to pull or yank the knife from the sheath with one hand (the retention is really good) and it is. BudK will be my go-to knife retailer when I spend a bit more for a lightweight RAZOR SHARP replacement for this one. Oh, and the emergency survival whistle built in to the sheath is too loud to blow indoors! HA! Great little knife for a super price. Pass up a bag of potato chips and just buy this knife. It's a no-brainer decision you won't regret.

The knife is only $3.00 so its worth picking up. The blade looks great and is easy to get a grip on. The sheath is very effective at keeping the knife in place. My knife came dull but it sharpened easily. My only complaint is with the weak neck chord. I will replace it with paracord soon. Overall for $3 you get a nice piece of stainless steel that isn't too horrible. Buy it on free shipping and you are golden.

I normally don’t use this knife for daily use, but any time I need a chisel, and don’t have one, this knife has been a great piece to have around. A great moment in improvised tools. It fits the hand well, and takes a respectable edge without going insane doing it. I do worry about the plastic friction locking mechanism that it uses wearing out, but at this price, why would you complain. For the price, I think this is an excellent knife; one of the few knives in this price range I wouldn’t worry too much about being stuck with in the woods with. When I am teaching knife safety to my local Cub Scout Packs, that question comes up more often than one realizes.

great for a simple tanto point boot knife for cheap, use the bogo deal. whistle isn't great but a little superglue will look it in place. truly half "sharpened" to fit its sheath smoothly. Would like to see same product without the whistle and more attachment options

This is one of those hidden treasures considering it's a functional, legitimate piece for under $3. The knife comes with an edge though I would recommend sharpening it up a bit. The sheath is top notch; locks the blade in place and even has an emergency whistle built in (something they don't mention in the description). This knife won't win any awards, but it's just about perfect as a self defense or back-up item. Recommended.

This is a cool little knife to have around, and you can't really go wrong for $3. It's technically full tang, but the handle is pretty thin. Being so small, the grip is also somewhat uncomfortable. It's still very sturdy and would probably stand up to being stabbed into any semi-hard surface. The knife comes somewhat sharp- enough to accidentally cut yourself a little, but not enough to carve into a beer cap or similar metal. The knife has a black finish, which is starting to come off a little, but you get what you pay for. The sheath is plastic, but sturdy. It also supposedly has a whistle built in, but I couldn't really get it to make any sound. One problem is how the cord holding the sheath is a strong nylon. It's good that the cord is quality, but it's so strong that you have to pull really hard if you're trying to get the knife out of the sheath with one hand. When the knife comes out the sheath also goes flying from all the force and has sometimes comically hit me in the face. Using two hands (one to hold the knife, one to hold the cords) solves this and lets the knife slide out. Overall, for the price, this knife is a good deal.

I have arthritic hands and have not been able to remove the knife from the sheath. I have even tried using a wrench. I love the idea of this knife and the whistle that is included. All the many items I have bought from BUDK are great. I am a prepping teacher and recommend your company to everyone. Just help me: how do I remove this knife from the sheath?

Just got this knife and was quite pleased. Only one small thing was wrong and that is that the tip of the knife was bent slightly to one side. Pair of pliers fixed that. Other than that, I've got nothing but good to say about this blade. Came sharp out of the box. The grip is comfortable and very well designed for good retention, and is comfortable in my hand even in a reverse grip (with my index finger going in the scalloped end part. The lock on the sheath is /very/ positive. This knife is not going to fall out hanging around your neck. The Tanto leading edge on mine had a very slight curve to it which I like. And you get a whistle in the end of the sheath. One note for first time buyers is that it is ground on one side only, but, this could be useful too if you're doing bushcraft, as it can be batoned and shave off near paper thin shavings for starting your fire. All in all, a great value.

Neck knives are supposed to be short and versatile. Mainly back up defensive weapons for quick use in a bad situation. This knife is too long! 6 and 7/8 inches overall. I cut off the handle at the slanted cross piece. Now it is much better and be called a true neck knife. FYI

Knife would be much better and safer if it came with a dog tag chain instead of the black nylon cord. For a Neck Knife, the nylon cord is so strong it can actually hang you. Bad idea.

Knives arrived and I got one of them out of the box. I was disappointed with two things though. One was that the cord that goes around your neck was way too stretchy, and the knife needs to be sharpened right out of the box. Other than that, the size and feel are great!

When I opened up the package it looked smaller than what I thought it'd be, but no problem there. The blade came dull and the whistle doesn't seem to work 100%. I sharpened the knife like all knives I buy anywhere. I don't mind the whistle not working as I bought this just for the knife and price. I also replaced the cord with paracord. All in all I'm happy with the knife.

I recently bought 5 of these neck knives because hey, neck knives are cool and very handy. Received them quickly and like many say i had to sharpen them .No prob. I planned on giving a couple to some female (wife, daughters) family members but noticed that the whistle didnt work. Not a huge deal but when i emailed C/S like they tell you to if theres a problem....Nothing. Knife good,C/S,jury is still out on that one.

Great value of a copy of Smith & Wesson Black Tanto Neck Knife at 1/4 the price. Handy neck knife with secure sheath with loud whistle. Sharp edge on a softer steel. Not for daily cutting or carving use. However perfect for emergency protection or seat belt cutout.

Nice little knife, a little smaller than expected but average for neckers. There's a built in whistle on the case that sucks, nice feature but cheaply done and broke with moderate use. Don't know why so many people use it to hunt, not very rigorous use compatible.

ok like most people i have to mention that the whistle does not work at all, wasent expecting it to though since i had read the reviews before i bought it. now onto the good parts, the kife itself is good, came with a sharp edge but will most likely resharpen the edge because the one it came with is a little fragile. the case holds the knife very well and does its job.

Very handy to have. As a law enforcement officer, I like to have a "Go to H**l option". And I find this to be a very good one. Compact, easy to conceal, and holds a nice edge. When things go sideways, a little "edge" is a good thing. I bought several as gifts.

Pretty good size for a neck knife. Blade was sharpened badly...they only paid attention to one side for the correct angle, the other side was sharpened at an off angle. Must have been a bad day at the Chinese forced labor factory. Survival (scabbard) whistle works fine, both with the knife in and out. Price was right.

I bought it just so I could get a discount on my other order. I was not expecting much for three dollars and was not disappointed the edge would not cut hot butter but, a few minutes on a stone and the little thing was razor sharp. Three weeks later it is still sharp and it is so light I often forget I have it on. A real good knife for twice the price. I have recommended it to a number of my friends and even my son wants one after seeing mine.

this is an ok knife i have had it for about 2 years and it has served well. i have used this knife from cleaning small game birds to cutting small vines to using it as a throwing knife. but one time i was in the woods i through the knife at a tree and it stuck in and then i pulled the knife to the side and the tip broke off.( it was very cold outside). now i am slowly trying to repair the tip. but for the price it is a very good quality knife. thank you Budk.

It's not a bad knife. The blade isn't terribly sharp right off the bat, but it's sharp enough. For $2.98, it's a great backup knife or a great light-duty EDC knife. My only concern is the locking mechanism for the sheath. The plastic seems to wear out quickly and once it wears to a certain point, the knife will no longer lock into the sheath. It hasn't happened yet, but based on what I'm seeing, it's going to happen eventually.

I ordered two, one for me, one as a gift. Well, they came today and they seemed pretty good. But, one of the whistles didn't work, but that's ok. Both of them weren't that sharp. Also, you can't use a pull through sharpener to sharpen these...the edge is slanted to the side, making you use a stone instead, which takes more time. But, they are nice little neck knives and hey, for the price, why not throw one in on your next order?? Good knives.

You get what you pay for. I just got this knife in my mail box yesterday, The first thing I did is to see if the whistle work and it does, I guess I'm one of the lucky one. For the price i'll recommend this to anyone that want a cheap neck knife. Thanks Budk!

With about 20 minutes of work, I turned this into a great little knife for attaching to a PFD. The wedge in the whistle slid around, so I found the sweet spot and tacked it in place by heating a paper clip, melt/pushing the wire into the sheath and the wedge, letting it cool and snipping and filing the excess wire. A river knife needs serrations, so I used a chainsaw file taped to a screwdriver shaft to serrate it. The screwdriver shaft needs to be about the same diameter as the file, so that you can use it as an indexer by letting it ride in the slot you just cut. Cut about 75% of each slot with the file, then switch to fine sandpaper wrapped around the screwdriver handle. Finish with a ceramic or diamond fine rod. The last mod I did was to add two holes to the sheath to make a square pattern. This will help with lashing it to the life jacket. Modified like this, this is the best dive knife on the BudK site. The sheath is WAY better than the "dive" knifes offered.

Extremely fair pricing. The knife itself is great, with some sharpening, but my whistle didn't work and replaced the necklace string the instant i saw it with hemp, mainly because the string that came with it was stretchy and made it slightly awkward to pull the knife out. Altogether, it took 5 minutes to prep it to be a viable emergency knife.<br /><br />Note: A bit larger than you may think. If worn just under a light t-shirt, people will see the bulge but may not be able to guess it's a neck knife.

many may say its sh**** but for a person how needs to trust a knife to save his life if necessary i say it is worth it 1 it is durable and mostly metal only plastic is the small grip and the sheath which tho is plastic is strong as all he** and if i had to think fast i would use it to protect me from a attacker in a instant worth every cent you pay Editor's Note: Thank you for your comments. This is another no-brainer BUDK offering. Three bucks buys you a simple, inexpensive, last-line-of-defense concealed carry knife. Edge needs sharpening work, and it needs a little oil and some 0000 steel wool (mine came with a little rust). Listen, it's not a camping knife, or a hunting knife, or a kitchen knife or an all around pocket knife. It's a cheap little stealth stinger ... and I love it for just what it is. BTW ... it fits in the sheath nice and snug and the sheath also has a built-in whistle. Next order, just do it. It's THREE BUCKS.

First impressions : Paint isn't that great , couple nicks on the finish out the box , blade not that sharp factory. That being said Gimping is aggressive, feels good in the hand and is also extremely lightweight. I was able to put a nice blade on it . I'd say for the money its a great little knife. For 3$ I just got my self a nice little fishing / utility knife I'm not going to be afraid to beat up. And the rape whistle? Hooooly crud is that thing loud ,although I'm 6'1 210 if i'm ever being raped the whole neighborhood is gonna know about it thanks to this whistle. Thanks BudK !!!!

I love this knife. I just got it today and it has already blown me away. The knife is sharp and solid, the gimping and the oxidization on the knife weren't done very well but I think that was just mine. The whistle on the sheath is great on mine, but not on all. All and all a great knife I would totally recommend it do every one.

I bought 2 of these knives and found that they were smaller than I expected. They did not come sharp and are difficult to sharpen. I like the sheath. The jagged parts on the handle were sharp and needed to be ground down. With a little work this knife will be good enough to use and with only costing $2 its a deal.

I was pleasantly surprised! At $2 who expects much? The knife seems pretty decent and the neck sheath holds it well. Other reviews dissed the cord, but it is fine. I had bought paracord but decided not to replace the stock cord. I bought one for each of my hunting buddies.

For three bucks this was a steal. Mine had tiny burrs and knicks out out of the blade when I recieved it, filed right out. For the price I won't complain unless it is plastic. It is full tang, strong, single side edge, but a grinder quickly fixes that. Not a delicate scaple, but a tough knife. I got it for jambing into bark to mark trails, cutting rope, and maybe to make kindling when I go out hunting and camping. Good little knife, can't beat the price for a full tang knife.

As promised in an above review, I did return to Bud K and purchase another four knives for use as gifts this year. I gave them prior to the holidays, and all of them to women. They do appreciate them and one now tells me that she wears it all the time. She uses them, around the neck as they were designed. One of them, who must travel nightly, wears it under her low cut blouse, and conceals it with a turtleneck dickey. (See wife for dickey explanation!)That little rascal just hangs there, keeping my friend safe. I like that and the price as well. If you are reading these review, take a tip from one who knows, this is a great gift, especially for the ladies in your life. Get some today and give them as gifts. The ladies will look at you with more respect! Why? Because you have shown concern for their safety. Now, don't let them leave home without one.

I have two of these and am about to order four more. I wear mine constantly, except in the shower. I live alone, in a rather sparsly populated area. This product is with me constantly. It was sharp when I received it, but I made it even moreso. When I have to use it, it answers the call, just as well as larger knives, but it does not have the heft to it, but the sharp edge makes up for that lack. I use it several times, everyday, and I have had it almost a year now. I don't leave home without it! Neither should you!

The knife came semi sharp which is okay, however it was not too easy to sharpen given the odd curve in the blade. After sharpening it did not hold its edge very long. Overall good buy, decent knife easily worth $10 for under $3.

I'd actually give this three and three quarters stars if I could. It's a handy little knife and I'm glad I have it but it arrived very dull and the built-in whistle is rather asthmatic. I suppose you could use it to check your dog's hearing. The knife itself is well made and seems strong and it does fit into the sheath very securely. For what I paid it's a bargain!

Ordered three of these after watching the misleading video that is posted with the product on the site. Video makes it look a little bigger and more sturdy than it really is. Having said all of that, they came pretty sharp out of the box. However, the blade is only one sided and that was not advertised. The whistle is rather chincy and within a day, the block inside the whistle had already fallen out. With all of that being said, I carry this little knife every day and use it as well. It is not a bad little knife and holds the edge well. I wish they would have given all of the information in the advertisement, but heck for the price you can't really go wrong.

When I saw this knife was only 3 bucks, I knew it wasn't gonna be that good. but I didn't know it would have so many problems! 1st off, it said 420 steel but on the box it has aus-6 steel. no big deal but i'm very o.c.d. 2nd, it's far from razor sharp... you would have better luck using your truck keys. 3rd, the point was deformed beyond normal. and 4th, the lanyard string was very weak. but I give it 3 stars... 1 because it was only $3. 1 because it's full tang. and 1 because I love BUDK. no hard feeling bud! I still love you! don't tell my girlfriend =P haha

For $3...can't beat it!!i bought alot of them, kept two for myself and gave 4 as gifts. planning of using some files to add some serrations to add another aspect of usefulness. metal is a little on the soft side so you may have to sharpen often but that's a good idea n0 matter what kind of blade you have! highly recommend! stick 2 in you grab n go bag, leave one in your center console, leave another in your tackle box. love it!

After reading several reviews I added this purchase on a free shipping deal. The plastic sheath is well made and the knife is sound. Mine wasn't sharp at all when I received it and the edge is only on one side. Due to the nature of the blade, no hand-held sharpener is going to keep it sharp. You'll need a stone. I'm pleased but have seen knives costing less than twice as much ($5) at gun shows with two-sided edges.

while too big to wear around the neck it will make a good utility knife. the whistle is worthless, i cut it off to make it thinner, the plastic sheath does hold the knife well. had to wrap the handle to make it comfortable to hold. will make a fine addition to my tool box. I got this knife several months back and have been too busy to leave a review until now. I like the style of the knife. However, mine wasn't really much like the one in the pictures or video. I mean, it was the same design, but a lot of things were very off about it. In the pictures and video, the knife has a very nice carbon finish on it, yet the finish on mine looked like it was layered paint (or plastic) coating on it. The blade itself looked like someone tried to punch holes into the sides of the blade. There were small dents and air-bubble-like holds on multiple area's. The main length of the blade was so dull, unlike in the video, that no amount of sharpening will bring the edge back. The only part that was actually sharp was the head of the blade (the opposite end of of the blade from the handle). While I still kind of like the knife and would MAYBE order another one, the current one I have looks like it is strictly for display purposes only and left me pretty disappointed.

I was very excited when my package arrived after 5 days and I also ordered the smiths 2 stone sharpening kit so I got a cheap knife to test the stone with. The sheath is very good quality for a $2 knife but the whistle sucks and the knife came with a 1 sided sharpening job, probably the worst I've ever seen for a knife, after sharpening it was a good full-tang knife for a good price but it took very long time to sharpen to make the edge equal sided but it was worth it. I also replaced the weak string that came on the knife and I replaced it with some black paracord and it works like a charm
