Shinwa Zhanshi Bloodwood Assisted Opening Pocket Knife

I have a Shinwa Black Nanashi which was the forefather of the Zhanshi and it is clearly the superior of the 2 knives due to the fact it also has a forefinger release as well as the thumb studs. Just one omission by Shinwa totally changed this knife for the worse in my opinion. It's still a nice knife...just a bit harder to deploy now.

Easy to use...sharp interesting blade

I was very excited to see this blade pop up, as the original Black Nanashi might be my favorite knife ever. The blade looked amazing, the bloodwood handle looked very cool, and the blue inserts/clip made the knife stand out. I wanted to add it to my Shinwa collection. However, I was disappointed slightly in this one. Unlike the original, the blade doesn't open as smoothly with the assisted open. Also, the locking mechanism doesn't seem to engage properly, so the blade won't stay open. I haven't decided if I will be returning this one or not; it's more of a collector's piece than the original Nanashi (which is one of my EDC knives), but I would still like one that works properly.
