when I saw this knife it good looks caught my eye;as i was after a belt carry knife that wasn't to big and heavy. when it arrived I was glad it looked better in hand than the pics . it came sharp too not all do. i like the heft(strength) it's full tang gives it. the only downside I can see is the sheath is a little on the small side ,a tight fit, although it mounts well on my belt and carries easily . its a great value in a strong blade for hunting/hiking etc. I really like it and give it 5 stars and would buy again ,recommend!

If your looking for aknife that will stand the test of time this is it! First off i've had mine since they first released this knife way back when years and years ago. I lost mine in the woods for over two years but then stumbled upon it thinking it would be ruined being out in nature that long i was surprised to see it was rust free still intact with no damage whatsoever and still sharper than ever! This knife really does stand the test of time and all the elements! I live by this knife and for the price you can't beat it! Way to go with this one !!

Very nice knife, feels good in the hand. Full tang w metal scales w wood inlays is nice but DOES add handle weight. Finger groves and where ur thumb rests feel natural. Sharp, will take an edge w some light work. Medium quality sheath. Except the etching to fade w use. Which is nice,it gives the knife character. Picked mine up at 13 bucks. Heavy Fancy skinner . I'll grab a lighter knife on the belt before I grab this one thu .

Great knife for the money! I needed a new workhorse fixed blade and while this is not exactly what I'm looking for It's designed and crafted well enough that I'm very happy. I do wish the handle sides were a bit rounder but it's quite comfortable to grip anyway. I've found a few minutes with a Blademedic helped smooth things nicely. Overall geometry is excellent. Blade geometry is well designed for multiple tasks. Nice weight, notched thumb groove, well placed finger grooves. I tried flexing this sucker, hard. This full tang knife is very strong without felling the least bit brittle. Blade was sharp out of the box with no burrs and was razor sharp in seconds with a Blademedic. Sheath is decent, made of nylon, seems sturdy although it could be a little better fitting for this knife I think. Serviceable for sure. Will make a new leather myself. I'll be back for more with engraving this is a steal at $10.

This Knife By Far Had Been Under Estimated & Undermined. This Knife Exudes Elegance @ a Distance . It's Well Crafted and Balance . The Handle is a bit Awkward Since its more Square than Round. But Don't let That deter you. The Clip point and embellished engraving makes this knife stand out. I also had my name engraved on it plus I added a design provide By BUDK (The Crunged Flag they have 14 designs to choose from See BUDK Video on YouTube on Engraving). So That's why I call my knife the tattooed one. Will Make bikers compete & jealous about this knife tattoos. Also. This Knife Has Some Weight to it. You will Debate to use it Because it will perform for you want It's meant to do or Just Keep it in a Glass Display not to scratch it. Either one you Choose is a Win , Win Situation & Really At This Price is a crying shame not to get. It. Makes you're Collection. The Envy of Many.

I bought this mainly for the looks. It turned out to be a very attractive knife which is well made and sharp. I recently bought its larger brother, the Ambassador and together they make a fantastic duo. You're getting a very good knife for the money. It's recommended by everyone on here. LJP

Received this beautiful message knife rather quickly. I love it. Feels great in my hand. It deserves a better sheath. Can't eat the price.

This is an awfully pretty knife, that's functional and keeps an edge. The sheath is nothing special but works fine. I could quibble about the handle not being rounded, and that it could raise blisters if you needed to do a lot of work with it. But we're back to it being $9.99. It's a great knife for the price.

This knife is acceptable for costing about ten bucks. It's certainly nothing special and it is what I call a"slab knife". For the money it's okay.

Looks good. Feels good. Balanced at the index/middle finger grip. Heavy and durable. Razor sharp. Leather sheath would be nice. I keep it looped around the handbrake lever of my car.

This knife has a full tang with PERFECTLY-aligned handles, flush scales, a sharp-angled butt, and intricate laser-scrollwork. The grip is literally very cool to the touch. Might be called a "Gentleman's knife", but this thing would be a handful of nasty if needed. Deserves a leather sheath, but $10 is a still a total steal

This knife impressed me the moment I looked at it. It is a gift for my son and the brown wooden handle will match his eye perfectly. Just as the Celtic one beautifully matches my green eyes. It is a solid full tang and the handle itself could be used as weapon. The blade was sharp. This knife was bought with the intentions of it being used as a dress knife for my son and I was not let down. Might Just order one for myself and my boyfriend too!

This is a well made, solid Bowie. The engraving and wood work is top-notch. You can feel the quality the moment you remove this knife from the box. Excellent deal - thanks BudK

Way better looking than the picture. The workmanship is much better than you might expect also. The knife is a full tang sandwiched between a flat steel handle with wood inserts. If you are looking for a round handle this ain't it. The handle itself, due to its weight and shape, is a weapon itself. It has so impressed me that I have ordered the Celtic version for my collection. I have bigger knives and smaller knives but, as Little Red Riding Hood said, this one is just right.

Great looking knife wish that the handle edges were rounded off though. That is the only issue. Cuts a 1 1/2 New York Strip steak like it was butter. I'm Happy.

I received this knife as a gift and was thrilled with the feel and quality of it. I liked it so well that I bought the bigger ambassador to go with it. I heartily give it 5 stars although the sheath rates merely 2 stars at best. But I use it as a "show" knife so it's sheath is irrelevant to me. I intend to get more of them.

Great bargain. Very pleasantly surprised with quality of knife and sharpness of blade. Expected to have to work to get an edge, but only had to strop to remove some burrs from edge. Plan on purchasing the Celtic version when it becomes available again.

My new favorite knife. I have fixed blades, survival knives, machetes and assisted opening knives and this is my favorite. It was a very well weighted, solid knife that feels great in your hand and has very nice markings. Super great buy

First off Shipping was very fast both times that I have ordered. Now for the knife, Its a solid piece. Very sturdy and im betting durable. Feels like this knife will be around for a good long time. The blade was pretty sharp and very clean out of the box. Sheath isnt nothing to scream about, pretty low quality but as good as the knife is I dont really care. I would def tell people to buy this. Also a better knife which is my favorite so far is the Blue Pakka wood hunting knife, GET THAT ONE TOO!!!

i just ordered this knife, and by the looks of things, it looks amazing. the comments from previous owners of this knife where all positive, the craftsmanship looks fantastic. i have owned many knives that ridge runner has made but none of them look as beautiful as this knife. i buy alot from this site so im exited to get it. budk has always had super fast shipping and im always satisfied. Thanks Budk!

This is the best buy that I can recall. A gracefully shaped little knife that is a work of art, such as this one, makes a guy feel a bit guilty about using it too roughly or using it at all, for that matter. Not to fear - it is a tough, well built knife that just happens to look very elegant. With perfect balance and weight, it feels like it was made for my hand and it holds an edge. Machined so well that one can hardly see the seam where the handle pieces are attached. Comparable knives retail for $60-$80. Multi-use knife, a good skinner & she's a pretty little thing.

Great looking, and 10.5 ounces of steel. Mine looks just like the picture, only nicer,as the picture does not do justice to the craftsmanship that went into the detail of the handle. The knife arrived with a dull coating of protective coating, so I grabbed my bottle of Goo Gone, and a piece of cloth, put a few drops on the cloth and rubbed it real good, then used a polishing cloth to remove everything. Now I have a knife that after a few minutes of sharpening is probably the best knife I've purchased in ten years.I'm so happy to own it that I'm going to order the other one with the abalone so I'll have both of them. I don't think I'll be cutting much with either one of them,as they are beautiful. What a great buy!!Thanks BudK.

This is a solid razor sharp knife that weighs more than some larger bowie knives I own yet the design and beautiful work done on the handle make a knife to display. Either way it is well worth the price I paid.

This is an awesome knife. I bought it as a kind of Christmas gift to myself and I absolutely love it. It's very elegant and extremely sharp. I want to say that the wood is not as light as the picture, though. It makes it look a little less opulent, but I'm not complaining. I highly recommend you to buy this knife.

This was the one thing in my order that I was most satisfied with. This knife is absolutely gorgeous, it was the first thing that I opened and nothing else topped it. When I got it out and in my hand I was really impressed on how big it actual was (granted I have kinda small hands). The sheath is nice and seems like it is pretty durable I have other nylon sheaths for things that don't really hold up very well. All and all this knife is well worth the money and I cant wait to SHOW IT OFF TO MY FRIENDS!!!!!

I was extremely impressed with the quality weight and design of this knife. It would be hard to beat it especially for the price. The full tang and construction of the knife makes all the difference. I only have two complaints. One I would like to see it in a leather sheath rather than nylon, and two the wood accents in the handle could be a little more secure. But overall this is a really great buy.

I got this knife for my father for Christmas and I'm worried I wont be able to give it away its so beautiful!!! This knife is completely solid, it has a great weight which makes it feel even sturdier!! The blade is strong and sharp straight out the box, its wood accents are absolutely gorgeous and make it look like a dress knife, my only complaint would be the nylon sheath it comes in is unnaturally ugly compared to the knife, I would suggest throwing it out or saving it for another knife and buying or making a nice leather sheath to accent the knife. For the price this is a complete steal, this is easily worth $30 bucks maybe more. A great buy!!! Thanks BudK!!!

Out of the box and into my hand all I'm thinking is how cool is this blade. It's solid, beautiful, and sharp right out of the box. I want to mount this one but it feels soooo good in my hand great balance not that I would consider throwing it. My friends think it's a good blade for skinning. I don't want to get blood all over this one, I mean I will if it comes down to it but I have other knives for that. This is like a dress up knife you know, when you go to that trailer park wedding or that monster truck reunion. The point is I love this knife.

I bought this knife as a gift for my father and he couldn't be happier. Only complaint is on one side of the handle there is a very visible scratch / scuff that runs the entire width. :(

This bowie is beautifully crafted and just amazing to look at! It has a pretty decent weight and very comfortable to hold. The only problem with it was that when I first took it out of the box, I noticed that there was little cut down the right side of the handle. It was as if someone had gotten another knife and just took a piece out of the handle. It's not too noticable but it's there none the less. A little disappointing, but overall a great knife!

Very nice knife, especially at the price point. Seems to be well made, and I just happened to have a leather case that fits it perfectly, making it a classy combo.

Wow, what a wonderful knife. Even though it was bench made in china and I was very skeptical of this blade, it has not failed me yet. I was hesitant to post a review before I tested and used it and now that I have tested and held in on my side for a year I feel that it is a sturdy and durable knife. For the sheath on the other hand is crap. I would recommend a kydex sheath or any other kind of sheath other than the nylon sheath that it came with. It did come sharp, but I prefer a sharper, so I had it professionally sharpened and since then it has held a good edge. And for the price it is not bad. But I could see spending more on a better blade from somewhere else like Kabar or Cold Steel. p.s. get a better sheath!

I got this knife about two days ago. It shipped pretty fast and was decently sharp out of the box. All in all it's a good knife, I only have two concerns about it. One is that the sheath is trash. It almost doesn't fit and also the velcro piece is coming off. My other concern is with the engraving. I had my initials put in and they look nice. The only thing I'm worried about is how close to the cutting edge of the blade they are. I just don't want them to come out after a few times sharpening. Other than that this knife is more than I asked for and definitely more than I thought if get for ten dollars. If you looking for an decent looking knife that's fairly sturdy and cheap this is the knife to get.

(4 out of 5)
This is a great knife, very nice and heavy handle, nice wood inlays, a much better knife than I was expecting BUT the only thing that keeps me from giving this knife a 5 star rating is that cheap a** sheath, you should really try to make a sheath to match the knife, you dropped the ball on this one. but still a nice buy for the price and I will buy the other ones like it and it bigger brother I found on your website...
May 31, 2013
(4 out of 5)
For the price, this is a pretty decent knife. It's solidly built, has nice wood and a well-made blade, and comes razor sharp out of the box. That said, I have to say that what keeps it from getting the 5th star is that it sure looks better in the pictures than in real life. The handle is thin and flat, doesn't fit my hand at all, and what looks like engraving or inlays is just sort of stamped on. The velcro strap on the sheath doesn't hold worth a damn, and when it comes loose the knife falls out easily.Still, it looks good enough that I was able to trade it to a guy for a half-day's labor cleaning off my screen porch, not bad for a ten-dollar knife.
Dec 18, 2012
(4 out of 5)
I've bought knives from stores that easily ran a good $30 for this kind of quality. The little curve indentation on the back of the blade is surprisingly convenient for placing pressure on with your thumb. The weight is incredibly satisfying as well. I'll find myself looking for things to cut just because of that! My only issue though is the edge is slightly mediocre and probably needs sharpening a lot. But then again, that's bound to happen with any blade. For $10, you've got no excuse NOT to get this knife.
Apr 22, 2012
(4 out of 5)
This knife is great the only problem I have is that the craftsmanship on the handle Isn't great it is a little sloppy, but the blade is sharp out of the box overall it is a great knife.
Dec 28, 2011
(4 out of 5)
This was a great knife for the money. It looks great, has nice heavy feeling and fits my average sized hand very comfortably. It came with a passable edge on the blade, but a little work with a sharper did the trick. (Haven't had it long so not sure on how it holds an edge over time and use.) The only real cons against it is that I wish the wood had a nicer luster to it and that once I sharpened the blade I easily cut off one side of the handle loop on the sheath as it passed over it while drawing the knife. It isn't made well, but I never expect a cheap sheath to be durable.
May 25, 2011
(4 out of 5)
I got this last year and it is still very sharp. I was like WOW! When I saw the details on it. I thought it was going to be just another cheap knockoff. I just wish the Sheath was as Good. But I carry it with me almost everyday And people that I show can't believe I only paid $10 for it. If the sheath was better it would have got 5 stars.

Just got my shipment today. I ordered 8 of these babies for my troops and had them all engraved. I could afford the engraving due to the great price. My knives are not exactly as the one pictured but close enough. Mine have the ridge runner rams head logo on the blade ( a plus in my book ). The dark area around the engraving on the handles is very light, so it is not as attractive as the photo. The sheath as mentioned by everyone else is chincy, but I'm putting these in a presentation wood box. All in all its well worth the money and looks great with some custom work on the blade.

Quite possibly the greatest chopping tool ever used by man. I have used mine to chop down countless trees, some of which were about 12 inches thick. Sure, it took a while and was hard work, but afterwords the blade was still in great condition.

I just got this knife in the mail today, and 1st thing I find is that the blade is not razor sharp, it can barely cut paper. And it does not have AUS-6 stainless steal, it has RR496 stainless. I'm going to keep the knife, but it needs a good sharpening after you take it out of the box. And false advertising the steel is never a good thing. But at least RR496 is better than AUS-6.

I got this knife as a gift, over all not a bad knife, but very poor craftsmanship. I got it and there were nicks in the metal of the handle I didn't notice till it cut me when I was using it. My hand slipped a little and I got snagged on a jagged piece of metal. Over all pretty good knife, but very poor craftsmanship.
