Honshu Spartans

When I saw this sword, I had to have it! C'mon...you have to admit, this sword is too cool!! It's a beefy blade that was razor sharp out of the box. The gentle curvature of the handle fits my paw perfectly, and there's slight finger grooves for the 1st and middle fingers. There's just enough handle where I could grip with a a portion of second hand if needed, and there's a swell toward the end of the handle preventing the weapon from slipping out of one's hand during use. The texturing on the handle provides a terrific gripping surface if one's hand was wet. The scabbard is a thick leather and very nicely constructed. The 7Cr-13 stainless isn't the "best" steel out there, but it's still an outstanding material. The blade could very well be full-tang as there's two screws/bolsters in the handle, but I couldn't say for sure--the spirit hasn't moved me to take the thing apart to check. The blade balances about 3 1/2 inches in front of the guard, so it's very easy to control. I watched the video for this sword prior to purchase, and was waiting for a strength test on something other than a watermelon...LOL!! I would have liked to have seen chopping demonstration on wood, or tatami to show it's cutting and blade strength. Overall, I love this sword!!

I bought this for my hasband as a birthday gift and when he opened up the package he lit up like a kid on Christmas. We will most definitely be purchasing more from this company!

I am descended from the Romans and Ancient Greeks and have the DNA Test to prove it. The blood of my ancestors flows through me, and I feel it ignite when I am holding and swinging this sword. It feels well-made and solid.

This Blade is Exceptional, as is all Honshu blades, well made. I have several Honshu knives, swords, machetes, weapons... I will continue to buy these particular blades because of their Quality, Durability, Design, Look, Feel.

The knife is good. Great for making a trail, cutting small branches, clearing shrubbery around the campsite, and chopping small firewood but don't go and chop logs with it. It is not an ax and would eventually break if you did. Remember it's stainless steel, not carbon steel. Overall it is a really nice knife.

Just got mine yesterday 6-20-20. I must admit i wanted one because it looks so cool! Guess I'm still a kid at heart when it comes to a nice blade. It does not disappoint! Don't think I could shave with it, but it is very sharp with a very sharp point, mine had actually punched through the plastic tip protector (during shipment I would guess). Very comfortable grip and a nice thick leather scabbard. It is not double edged, but that suits me fine. Over all I would say it's very good quality! Everything fits tight and it looks great. Depending on what you intend to use it for you may want to balance ease of care (stainless version) with hardness (holding an edge better) and consider the D2 tool steel version, though it is almost twice the cost. Love it!

Great product, especially for the price, can't get much better, it is pretty sharp, no complaints from me, I cut myself accidentally and it was like butter going into my finger, sheath is a little tough to get on sometimes, but I figured out a system to get the buttons clicked easier now, great product, bring on the Zombie apocalypse, lol, J/K, worth every dime!

It looks awesome. Bit shorter than I thought it would be, but it's still pretty cool and edgy and beautiful. I Love it!!!!! I'm So glad I got this sword!!!

I first decided I wanted to buy this sword after watching a few reviews on YouTube. I watched it cut through deep lumber and have no issues. Well after I received it I decided to put it to the test. I did the shave test and i actually shaved my right arm with it! After that I put it to the chopping test. First a bit of bamboo, then cardboard boxes and finally a few big branched and a log. It survived all unscathed with no damage. I am proud to say Honshu has my lifelong service. Thank you honshu and thank you BudK for being my go to site!

While D2 blade steel will rust and stain quicker than any of the stainless blade steels, its elevated chromium content does offer enough resistance to environmental attacks to garner it the title of “semi-stainless.” With minimal care, D2 can remain free from corrosion and staining for the lifetime of the blade.

The aesthetic beauty of this sword is something else. Sturdy, clean, nice weight, feels good in hand. If this is what I can expect from Bud K, there is a long future in store for us. Will be ordering the upgraded model soon.

Just like every other review for this sword I’m giving it 5 stars, as it deserves. This blade is the meaning of perfection. The second I laid eyes on it, it was already my favorite blade. Perfectly shiny, nice and thick, great rubber handle and razor sharp. The shape is perfect, and when it gets hit by the light just right, it’s the most beautiful thing you’ll ever see. I’d pay $150 for a blade this quality, and the price that it’s at is a miracle

I love the looks of this sword, Just wish the top edge was sharp. I had been looking for a machete', for some time now but all I could find was those thin bladed ones, This is about the same length but a LOT thicker so It will serve as both sword and machete. Excellent craftsmanship!

I actually got this as a machete' I got tired of the cheap machete's available with their flimsy blades. this one has a great thick blade on it, sharp, just the right length, heavy end for chopping through the brush, easily sharpened.

I still love my double edged ninja sword but was disappointed about its sharpness when it arrived, this on the other hand passed the arm shaving test, only the leading edge of the blade is sharpened which is good all other parts you'd probably just cut yourself, it looks and feels like a quality blade but lighter then I hoped for, only two negatives, i dont have the large hands but the handle seems small, the grip at the web of the hand doesn't feel right, at least without gloves and the rivet that's holding handle strap on the sheath seems cheap, I would not be suprising if it fell off one day, all in all it's a awesome blade

This sword is incredible. It slices with ease and feels very easy to handle. The weight isn't so much that it feels heavy, but it isn't flimsy either. The quality of the blade is exceptional for this price. Don't wait, buy it now!
