Product Description
The art of knife throwing is not something learned overnight. Not only does it require skill and techniques one can only learn from a professional, but it also requires the right knife. Gil Hibben, a supreme throwing knife master, designed these throwers for professional throwing accuracy. Each is constructed from one solid piece of stainless steel with a black oxide finish. There are three knives in the set and each is 8 1/2" in overall length. A nylon sheath is included.

This product is worth it. I have been using mine quite frequently I only through one then if something happens to it I go to the next. When I progress with my skill I will use two then three. I will say thaybare quite durable I did manage to brake the tip of the one I was using but it took a beeting before doing so

I'm gonna get more of theses knives because as a thrower for 3 years I've not found better knives. I did want to state a concern there is people posting saying that theses knives need to be more dull which makes absolutely no sense at all and I just wanted to say please do not lessen the value of these knives by making your knives dull. That would be a a real shame. These knives are excellent.

I have purchased two sets of these and two more in the silver. I have three other styles of throwing knives but like these the best. Gil Hibben knives are really the best I have found. I am relatively new to throwing but these knives get a real work out several times a week. The balance is good, the feel of how they leave the hand is nice, the accuracy is outstanding. I bought a product called plastidip and dipped the handles of the last two sets in it before I used them. What a difference. he cord is still wrapped like new after 3-4 weeks of frequent use. Great knives!

I got these the other day and used them that day. I've been throwing knives since I was a kid. These are great knives. I threw them hard and a lot. They're thick and well made. The only negative is the string wrapped on the handle. It started to come off after only a few throws. I took it off all of them and put black athletic tape on it like you would use on a baseball bat. Problem solved. At only $17, I'm buying another set.

I've bought a few sets of theses and still have every one. The weight is good and the length is perfect. The cord does come off, especially when hit by another knife blade hitting it, but the cord is really not necessary for accurate throws. * A TIP * I taped mine with fluorescent thin width duct tape at the top and bottom of the cord wrap and it helps to slow the unwinding, but what's better is they are easier to see if they don't stick and easier to see in flight to judge your rotation and distance factors.

A great set of knives. Once you get your throwing style down it's pretty fun. I'm a beginner, this is the second set of ball and I will stick with these for now just bought another set while they were on sale. The cord does come off that's expected. Knives do cut things.

These are nice knives for the price. The cord comes off quick. You can throw them very hard, & they hold up. They stick good when thrown. The tip of the knives do stick through the case. All in all, I'm pleased.

I have to say, these knives are great, especially for the price. I've been throwing them almost everyday for the past two weeks. These knives can really take a beating. While throwing the knives, they've dropped on rocks and even concrete and have not been damaged. The cord does come loose (mine did in the first hour of use). I happened to cut the cord off one knife while throwing another, like others have stated. The black oxide coating will eventually wear off in certain places (mine are beginning to wear off at the tip) but that is to be expected. Overall, the knives really hold up well and keep their point.

Just received my set today and I'm extremely satisfied with the quality and durability of these knives. I'm truly a beginner and as such I'm expectedly brutal on a blade as I progress through the early learning stage. These blades not only look good, but they feel great and consistently balanced. As noted by another reviewer, I actually clipped one knife with another and cut the cord on the one knife. I tested the balance without the cord and it was not measurably affected (from a practical standpoint) and I did not notice much difference in the feel or performance when throwing the blade without the cord. However, I happen to have a similar cord available and I quickly rewrapped the blade handle just like new. I have shopped around and I own a wide collection of knives and I promise you, this is a truely great value for the price point.

I got these a few days ago and they work amazing!!! I had a set of other throwers but I was hitting all over the place. I started using these bad boys and I kept hitting them with each other. I even cut the the string off one of the handles when I was throwing it! The balance is great, totally durable and feel amazing. I am very impressed with my set and I hope you are too.

I've had a set of these for years, finally threw them the other day for the first time. They stick nicely and the balance is great. A little pricier but they seem to hold up really well with the cord being the exception. I favor longer knives but when I go to throw something smaller than 10-12 inches I tend to reach for these first.

I've been using these on-off for over a year now the blades are so dinged that they are practically serrated and I've re-wrapped them in friction tape half a dozen times but they are still perfectly usable. Broke the tip on one but I was able to file it down to a nice point. The shape of these allows for a variety of different throwing styles and the weight is almost perfect. If you are looking for the first time then do yourself a favor and get these DO NOT buy those cheap crappy six inch throwing toothpicks.

I bought a few sets of knives to throw, but these are by far my favorite. Highly recommend. They're extremely affordable and they throw true. The string handles only lasted a day or so, but the balance is better without the strings. The size and weight combo makes for accurate throwing even at longer distances. Highly recommend.

the blade is nice chips pretty easy just using it on plywood. but its proboly because im pretty new to knife throwing they are great to startout with the cord will come loose eventually its pretty easy to use one knife to tuck it back in though i would recomened a larger pack for first timers but this is a good starting knife

I've waited awhile to get these. When they came down in price I had to get a set. They are everything Til Hibben says they are. I have not missed a single throw since buying them. They are comfortable either hold, and perform like a dream

I got these for $17. They have an awesome weight and feel in your hand and are large enough to allow for little more distance throwing. They look great and the wrapped handle feels a lot more resilient and tightly wound than other products around and below this price point.

as some others said the string around the handle came off but no biggie. They are very well made and are just a great all around throwing knife. I had messed around with throwing some but never had throwing knives but ive owned plenty of others to know what a good knife is. You cant go wrong with em.

Great throwers, good balance and weight to these knives. They also stick very well :) . Only thing I dont like about them is the sheath. Honestly, on triple sets like these an the expendables triple thrower set, I found that taking out the middle knife makes the sheath alot less stressed... So yeah, I have 1 of those expendable throwers, one of these, and one of the spearhead throwers just randomly stashed in my home ;) ,, and happier sheaths lol

These knives are very well crafted with a very nice edge to them, they could be used as an all around field knife for skinning. The cord wrapped handles are nice it gives you cordage in an emergency and in really cold weather they are nicer to the hand. Throw at different targets to avoid cutting the handle wraps with another knife.

I started throing a knife as a kid in the 60ies, and all i had was a hunting knife. well needless to say I got good enough to buy real throwing knives, but they were the chhp ones, Till one day a got a gift and used it to get something special, so I purchased these knives and WHAT A DIFFERANCE! the weight was impressive, compaired to others I purchased even from Kennshaw thses were quality, when you threw it wou know that if you hit your target it will stick in 1/2 plywood all thw way threw without much effort, then I throw the lighter ones, the $20.00 for 20 stuff, THESE are NOT a BARGIN! the cheeper ones have to e thrown much harder, much more effort and still some bounced off. with the one edge being sharpened, the other edge straight, and NO BIG CIRCLE on the bottom of the handle, I WISH I knew how to video the differance in the overall quality of the Hibben knife the Hibben name

holy cow, if these knives were any better i would have to call the cops, i bought these a couple months ago and they have not dented, scratched, chipped,or exploded.the handle wrapping comes off easy but you can fix that if your real picky. ive thrown these hundreds of times and they are still spectacular, toughest knives i have, overall great buy

This is a FANTASTIC knife set. There is not one thing that I dislike about these knives or the sheath it came in. I received these as a Christmas present and an amazing one at that. The knives are heavy, durable, fairly big, sharp, and can take a serious beating. These were my first set of throwing knives and I don't think that I could have asked for anything better. The sheath holds together nicely and feels to be very well made. All of the knives are held in snug and the material is extremely sturdy. The only down sides to this knife set is that the paracord will most likely come off after multiple throws, but you get used to the knife without it after a while. The knives WILL become dull at some point in time - Duh, that's what happens when you use something; it gets worn down - and will need to be sharpened. My buddy came over one day and immediately fell in love with them after a couple of throws. A few weeks later, he bought his own set and couldn't be happier. These knives are phenomenal in every way and are a must have to anyone who is looking for a good knife throwing set, whether you are a beginner or professional.

These are great throwers. I started throwing with large, heavy mountain man knives and tomahawks. I was skeptical about modern dinky throwers, but these have a great weight and feel to them and really sink into the target. The cord wrap came off quickly but I expected that. Overall realy great throwers if you don't abuse them

I purchased a set of these some time ago and they have been great. When they went on sale for $15.00 I purchased two more sets! They are heavy enough to throw well and have held up to a lot of throwing. As others noted- as soon as you get good and have a tight group, you will no doubt slice the string wrapped handles and that will come off. No big deal- I re wrapped mine with some gutted 550. These come pretty sharp and are actually not a bad knife for general camping use as well as throwing. They keep an edge and sharpen well. On sale for $5.00 per knife, you cant say no!

Gil HIbben throwers take a helluva lickin' but properly thrown they keep on stickin'. I'm looking for something a little heavier for some distance throwing, but for intermediate range these are perfect. I could do without the cord, however. I replaced on with synthetic sinew and it's holding up but over-all I find the cord unnecessary.

I purchased three sets of these knives as my first actual throwing knives and I am so happy I did! I have been throwing knives most of my life, but always with fighting knives, daggers, and the infamous United Cutlery's Stingers, with a fair amount of success. These knives, however, are SWEET! Nearly every time one of these knives leaves my hand they hit their mark, stick, and have never broken or chipped. Barely even a sign of wear on the tough black finish (powder coat, I think). Nicely crafted, well-balanced, and high quality for a low price! Can't beat 'em!! Just take my advice: get more than one set, 'cause you are going to end-up ordering more after you use them, anyway! Besides, three just ain't enough!

This is a great knife to start with. The weight & the length are just right, feels good when you throw. Also noticed most of the time you can tell if your throw was good as it leaves your hand. Only one thing I didn't like was the rope hand warp came off one of them after 20ish throws, so I just took them off & hasn't made a difference (thinking of redoing them with empty 550 cord, might be to heavy tho). Also for $15 it's a great buy.

Probably my favorite knives they are consistent and are very useful with full force hammer style throwing if done correctly 1 rotation from about 10 feet I have bought 3 sets for myself and one for my friend I have had these things fly everywhere hit rocks and even cut into each others blade but they hardly take any damage. And on that did hit a rock tip first only needed abut a minute on a bench grinder to fix. These blades are hand made because if you hold and look at them closely they are different sizes and thicknesses which I find rather intriguing. Great knives even better price easy for beginners and pros alike

These are my first Gil Hibbens and I am not dissapointed. They are well weighted and durable. I can vouch for the msrp of $52 as I have seen them on other sites. I have several Hibben throwers and would recommend them to anyone. This set is small but once the distance and rotation is found, they are consistant. They are also light enough for easy conceal. I am a VietNam vet, USMC, and spent many years in black powder competition. That means knife and tomahawk throwing as well. I didn't lose too much.

Excellent Knives of the best quality, perfectly balanced. You can prevent the cord from coming off by putting crazy glue along all the sides of the wrapped cord. I bought a three pack of glue for $2.50 at Rite Aide works great. Other then the cord these knives are excellent and I'm gonna purchase another set.

If you like smaller knives ("8 1/2") you must buy these knives. I don't know why they are so much cheaper than the ones without the black finish, other than the fact that the black finish will chip off when you start to bang them against each other. These are serious blades, very sharp edges for throwing knives. And they are very heavy for there size, they sink deep into the target with a little effort. The only down side is that it is only a matter of time before the cord wrap will get cut and fall off. But the loss of the cord wrap will not effect the balance of the blades.I bought 2 sets because of price, one to practice with, and one to keep for the collection.

I purchased 2 sets for myself, and was impressed enough to purchase 6 more sets to give to friends. They all loved these sets of knives. Well made, very sharp, and easy to throw. Beginners should start with a bit longer knife, but these are easy to master with a bit of patience. For the price, these these won't be easy to replace.

I ordered this set of knives for my son for Christmas. There are very sturdy, easy to use and a lot of fun. I am going to order me a set now. The only problem I had was I threw 2 knives so close together that it cut the cord wrap on one the handles. We replaced it and used some clear fingernail polish on the edges (top and bottom) to try to add some protection. I knew they would be great knives if Gil Hibben's name was on it. Would recommend them to everybody.

Received two sets of these knives today in the mail. Opened them and took them out to throw. I was pleasantly surprised. For me they threw great at close range, combat throwing range, half spin and full spin. They just felt great in my hands. I don't throw full spin much, but hit the first six I tried with these knives. Sweet!

These knives are by far my favorite set of throwers I have. They have some weight to them so you can really stick them deep if you try. They did come sharp which surprised me but I'm sure they'll dull down after throwing them for awhile. I wouldn't recommend these to beginners but for anyone else they are a great choice.

Very sturdy knifes, I got them yesterday, but I wanted to wait one full day of throwing them before I wrote my review. So far they have been the best/most reliable knifes I have ever owned (I have owned a couple sets prior.) They are perfectly balanced, and feel great when they stick. I also loved how the sheath fits the belt perfect, very sturdy, makes them way easier to access when throwing. The ONLY downside I noticed is how sharp they were when they came(Which I didn't mind since I have a lot of practice and I like them sharp.) But if your a beginner, I would highly recommend getting a practice throw around knife that's dull before getting these, they are that sharp. Lol. They feel professional, they throw professional, and they are SHARP, I'm very satisfied. 5 stars.

These knives are awesome. I threw them by accident at a brick and the point didn't really dull at all. The only problem is that the wrapping comes loose, but that wont happen if you put glue or tape around the top and bottom of the wrapping. Other than that the knives are awesome great buy, and their points are the sharpest points I have ever seen. The sheath is super durable and there is 3 slits to put the 3 knives.

Every throwing knife I've bought from Budk I've managed to break or bend. These, however, stand up to the beating of my friend, who throws them like he's fast-balling on the pitcher's mound (which is what he used to do). He's practiced with these and still is. The cord starts coming off fairly quickly, but my friend much prefers throwing them without the cord, and is getting insanely accurate and getting sticks despite his ludicrous power-throwing style. He overpaid for his on ebay, but we're both getting a great set at an awesome price. They take a beating, don't snap out of nowhere like all my other knives, and fly extremely well. I'm very judicious in giving out 5 stars, but its that good of a buy.

I've been throwing knives for about 16 years now and have thrown just about everything possible. My experience with this thrower has been second to none. The weight is professional grade, and the balance is perfect. My throwing sessions usually last anywhere from 30-45 mins and when using these throwers makes me want to continue for longer periods. Overall this product is outstanding, and for the price, why would any serious thrower ever pass on this one. If you try it, I guarantee, you wont be dissatisfied. My sincere appreciation to the BUD K Co. for having this tremendous Gil Hibben product.

I'm new to throwing and I popped for a fair variety of "beginner" sets to get me started. These babies are my favorites of the lot. With the "buy more, save more" offer I got each of the four sheathed sets I ordered for $12 each. Four bucks a knife, seriously? (And I was sticking them from the start.) One knife tip got bent early on, but I just took a hammer and a flat piece of steel and pounded it back flat. No big whoop. The handle wraps are coming off a few already. Don't care. They spin AND flat throw great. Would buy more in a heartbeat.

Great throwers for this amazing price. The wraping has come off of each of the 6 knives I own. It doesn't matter because I feel that I have a smoother release without it wrapped. The company may as well leave the string off, no one will miss it. The knives stick very well. I have a small chip in one where I hit the other knife but who cares, for this price I can easily buy more when needed.

It came to me yesterday and today I already did the test and I was surprised by the quality and effectiveness of the product. They incarcerate in the same tree that you stick a knife in a pot of butter. His balance and weight distribution is excellent. Good fun and spend hours with this game. Budk, Thanks!

These knives are awesome! They stick hard, they're sturdy, and very easy to sharpen. If you are just getting into throwing knives, I suggest you be careful not to scratch or damage the tip because its a pain to Resharpen the point. Also the wrapping I would suggest to just discard of. First throw and already I see the string coming off. Unless you wanna superglue it, just throw the wrap out. Overall very nice knives. My favorite part is the sound of the THUNK when I get a solid stick! If you're on a tight budget( or not!) get these knives. They are WELL worth it for their price.

How can you pass these great knives up?!? I previously had a set of throwers that measured up to 6. I didnt think 2 more inches would make a big difference but I was wrong. I was shocked at the size of these knives when I opened the box. They have a good weight and are very well balanced. These knives sail through the air easy and stick hard! I was concerned about the cord but I heeded the advice of the previous customers and put some superglue on the wrap and Ive had no problems with it coming apart. I like these knives so much I might buy another set. At these prices itll be a no brainer.

I can't believe you guys are giving these knives away @ these prices!!!! Perfect balance, they hold an excellent edge right from the start. The only bad part; is like any thrower with wrapped handles, eventually they're gone. It's getting to the point where when I receive a thrower with a wrapped handle; I just save time and take the wrappings off. The sheath could be a bit better. If you keep a good edge on your throwers, as I do on mine; Don't PUSH the knives into the sheath, just let them slide in and rest where they stop. As far as knife quality goes though. EXCELLENT!!! As I said very well balanced, and hold an edge from the box, to after hours of throwing. And @ the price; I suggest buying two sets!!! Excellent deal, all in all.

OK, I am going to start out by saying this is the best knife ever. Gil Hibben is awesome his knives are soooooo durable. Right out of the box I loved them they are easy to throw and thunk hard into the wood and I mean hard!!!!! You can use the no spin technique or spin throw. You can use them as kitchen knives, spear, dagger, boot knives and plain old throwers.

Too good to miss out on! One of the easiest knives to master I've ever thrown! I'm former special operations military, and have thrown many brands and types. These are so good I've already bought 5 sets and will buy 5 more at least! I carry his Karate Master Damascus as a daily concealed fighter! Thanks for the killer steel

Like what? $13 for these great throwers? These things are pretty heavy. Carrying all three sounds tough once you get a feel for them, but it's worth the money. Definitely a must-buy. The handle can be reapplied if it gets loose or undone. Knives are great, though.

I just got these knives today. They're great. The balance is amazing. They have a very nice weight to them. They aren't that heavy, but when you pick them up they still have a slightly surprising heft for being so compact. Now, if you want to use them for anything other than throwing, the handle can be a bit cramped. If you choke up on the knife and keep your thumb far up the spine, you can use the knife for cutting fairly comfortably.

These knives are a definite must buy!. They are very solid, sharp, fit comfortably in my large hands and live up to the Hibben name in every aspect. I was able to accurately hit my target every single throw! The first knife I could stick consistently! I do not see these breaking any time soon at all, and the cord wrap is held up like a champ after 3 hours of throwing.

i love these knives!. they are well balanced and have a great factory edge to them they pierced wood fairly easily with little practice i recommend any gil hibben throwing knives. i did see how the threaded handle could come undone but i put liquid superglue all the way on the ends and that solved the problem of them unraveling use the liquid not the gel kind. the liquid absorbs right into the thread and you won't notice a difference in the handle. Great buy thanks!

i love these knives. with the size of these i feel they can be used for throwers or for anything you could use a handheld blade for. the compact sheath holds all 3 knives nicely too.

This set is great. Its got a good weight to it and sticks very well. This is the LARGE set at 8 inches and so, which really surprised me. A word of warning though; the nylon cord that wraps the handle (like many scales on throwing knives) will fall off soon, but it's got a nice finish overall. The sheath I got was nylon on the outside and with leather inserts between the blades.

Nice knifes , BUT they are very very sharp. you'll have to dull the sharpness down to use them.

The blade is pretty sharp out of the box, which some people like and some don’t on throwing knives. However, the tip is SO sharp that two blades bent after only a few fails, one at the tip and one at 1/3 away from the tip. Nothing that can’t be hammered out, but something to consider. Like other folks have said, the cord handle is worthless. Came off all three knives after 15 min of moderate throwing.

Been using these blades for a little over a month now. They are great, perfect for throwing and the weight is really nice. Don't expect the corded wrap to hold, or the sheath forever, but the blade itself is really good. Removed the corded wrap that started falling after a little under a day of use, and looking at reinforcing the sheath, but overall a really nice blade

These knives are as good as they say it is, and yes the string on the handle came off but oh well. I rated 4 stars because after throwing them a couple if times, the tip on one of the knives bent and started to affect the way it was hitting the board. But overall, they're good knives.

They seem so far to be nice quality and are great throwing knives, and stick well. I like that these knives have an edge over traditional throwers which only have a sharp point. the only reason I'm giving it a 4 is Since they were supposed to be Gil Hibbens I thought I was going to get American made knives, but these are made in China

Best I have purchased for the price. Sails to the target well and sticks. I give them a 4 for only one reason; the string wrapped handle. First time another knife nicked it, it broke and I had to tie it off. Other than that one fault they are the best I have had in 2 years.

I have made several purchases and have been very satisfied. I just ordered a 2nd set of knives for my daughter's upcoming birthday. Can not really comment on throwing them yet for both sets are a gift. Did little research on the Internet and found very positive reviews, so I ordered a set. After receiving the 1st set, I was impressed with the workmanship/quality and it came with a nice box. Decided to order 2nd set in addition for future B-Day gift, great price for the value. She might as well have six knives for the price and I will look like spent a lot. Not that I am a cheap dad!

These are great and are easy to throw, the only down side is the cord around the knives will fall off quickly, especially if it gets caught on something. I would definitely buy these again though! Higher quality than most sets out there and extremely affordable too!

i was really impressed and satisfied with this Hibben triple thrower. they are nicely balanced, of excellent length, and pretty sharp out of the box. the reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because there were nicks on the blade as if they were previously thrown...i wonder if the guys in the warehouse know anything about that?

These are the first set of throwing knives I've ever bought. The knives are great I bought two sets the sheath does what its supposed to do. The cording on and handle came off very quickly after I started throwing them, but they throw better with it off anyways. I like the weight and after watching some youtube videos on how to throw a knife I was hitting the target very well before I called it a day I continue to use them every time I get the chance, and have added to my arsenal.

Great throwers! The balance is perfect and with a little flame and re-wrapping the cord handles aren't an issue and they stay just fine. One of the tips was dented like someone had hit a brick with it but it was nothing 2 minutes on the grinder couldn't fix.

I got these knives earlier this year. I hadn't taken them out to throw until last weekend. They look very nice and the sheath seems fairly good. The cording on the handles came of fairly quickly once I started throwing them. The knives seem fine, but just as a note they are very slightly blade heavy so you need to adjust your throw accordingly.

Wow... these are freaking bad***. For the price these are the best you can get. The case is perfect and just the right weight. The handle wrapping tends to come loose, but I mean wow I was surprised.

Great knives little heavy but still good I just got them and I've been throwing them all day and they have not broken like my friends throwing knives have, but the thread still did unravel around the handle the first day.

Great knives, I threw them for quite a bit of time. However one of them came unraveled and another snapped in two.

I bought these knives earlier this year and I finally got around to making a target and using them. They aren't too bad. The cord wrapped around the handles did not last long, but even with out it they are fine. I'm a beginner and I think they feel a little heavy. Also, the blades started getting notches pretty quickly. I can say that I am very happy with them, especially since they were on sale when I got them. I might avoid them for a first set of throwing knives, but they are still fairly good.
