i ordered two hawks and the bogo blankets. both products good quality & the tomahawks have a good look and balance. have yet to throw them, this weekend is test day!. so far, everything i've ordered from budk has been good stuff and came pretty quick.

I like the tomahawk a lot of looks cool ..the problem i have with it is that it turns in the hand on power swings and the balance is of as to a throwing weapon in is lacking from 12 meters it hits 33%of the time and I see stress fracture in the blade that I am concerned about

I've had mine for over a year now and as much throwing as I have done with it, it held up perfectly! Aside from the string around it coming off (Which with other knives being tossed near it and hitting it is to be expected) it hasn't so much as had a bend or break on it. Although for me I modified mine a little on the pick park with a grinder insuring it to stick even better. Thought if I gave it a few hard tosses it might snap but even then, nothing! So if you want a great deal rest assure this Axe is worth every dollar and cheap for it's great quality, thanks Budk!

My friend got one of these and after throwing it for a bit I knew I had to get one of my own. It throws very well and feels sturdy. This also works great for chopping up branches and probably taking down small trees. Lot of fun and a great tool.

Got one! I'll give it to the dead guy when I say, "But Officer, he attacked me with a hatchet!" United Cuttery is good, but buy a better model.

It is a good Tomahawk for the money. It throw pretty good the rap that come on the handle is pretty cheap but for the money it ant bad. It's a lot of fun.

I love most everything I buy from BK, some great deals. Cord wrapped handles can be held in place by whipping the cord with any white glue like Elmers glue.I put a line of glue from one end to other then using my fingers I wipe it deep into the cord. Two coats is what I normally apply and it work amazingly!

took these on a boy scout campout this summer along with some throwing knives from budk. Boys had a great time and threw these axes with success. never had an issue other than the cord coming off. i just bought 5 more (some for the boys, some for me). super easy to get hits and tough enough to take boy scout abuse. All for 16 bucks. hard to beat. is it the best on the market -no. but u can use the heck out of them and get more if needed. enjoy.

This is probably one of the best weapons i have ever bought. Its strong very sharp and it will impress. Its hard not to stick on every throw.I would recommend this for beginners and pros alike.I love how it is made of one peice of solid steel.I will be buying from bud k again.

''Amazing'' about covers it, I have Shopped around and this is the best buy I have found... After getting one day in with this I can stick it in 90% of the time!!! I would recommend throwing it with the spike facing forward to stick it. With the blade end I was able to slice a cigg pack in half just couldn't get it to stick though

Converted from woodies to all steel last year.Bought a total of 6 of these, threw them 5 K times and had a student grow them 5K in 40 days. In 10K throws have lost 5 of 6 spikes but all still throw well. Added bonus, strikes with the spiked handle are very satisfying. I rate them; General purpose tool=fair, HTH weapon=good, thrower= excellent. As a tool the head is too light but the spiked handle makes a great digger/pry bar.As a HTH weapon the spike peen and bearded blade make for interesting catching tactics but releasing the catch is problematic. Light blade makes for good blocks & slashing counters. As a thrower... I bought 6 and threw them thousands of times so you know I like to hurl these little beauties. But I do miss my spikes.

Got this a while back it still has held up well, its just one piece of metal but it is good for throwing 5stars because the way it sticks when the bottom spike penetrates -- awesome!

I bought one of these tomahawks. Before receiving it I read the comments about the para cord handle coming loose after a few throws. I bought a can of rubber grip spray for tools.I sprayed a generous amount on the para cord and after more than 20 throws it stays in place. Also by being rubberized , hold the tomahawk is much easier.I will be ordering more.

Great weapon. Love using it any chance I get. The string grp sucks. It comes off after a few throws. But it is worth the buy!

this tomahawk is great for its price i gave it a 5-star even though the cord wrap came off in about 5 or 6 throws ...the solid piece of steel is very durable and it has passed any test i put it through so far but it did need some sharpening

Budk, the Black Ronin Tactical Throwing Tomahawk Axe with Sheath is great. It is every thing that I wanted. As for you help with every thing else I am very happy. This next month I am planning to order some more things from you and the next month I am going to get some of the same for my son. He likes the same kind of things that I do and I think he well love my order also. ken Lambert.

This thing is amazing, I do mall time salvage and metal recycaling. I would not go to work with out my Tomahawk, put it on the grinder and got the blade super sharp. The spike will easly cut throught tin and great for prying. The blade stays very sharp and will chop throught metal wire and pretty much anything that I need to. And it is indestructable I have done some terrible things with these and have yet to brake one ( I have a few for different uses. Only tip is take the rope handles off and wrap the handles in Duct-Tape

This tomahawk is awesome, as other reviews say the cord for the handle comes off super easy with a couple throws but I used it to fix a hole in my pool table so.. still useful. It only took about 10 minutes to put a good spike on the back with a razor sharp blade below. I,ve already bought two and want. They fit perfectly into a hammerloop if youve got one on your pants.

This is a great throwing axe I love it it is so sharp! I swear you could shave with this thing. It has very sharp points and is hard not to stick. the only problem i have encountered is that the para cord grip comes of very quickly. But an easy fix i have found is to put a zip tye on both the bottom and the top of the para cord. this keeps it on and secure. but overall this is a amazing throwing axe its sharp strong and the paint stays on really well. this is a grade A axe.

Well worth the money, I throw this thing every day and there's not a scratch on it. You can abuse it all you want but I haven't had any luck breaking it so try if you want. no better way to spend 15 bucks.

With all of the previous reviews there isn't much more I can add to how these are a money well spent item. I bought three which was easy to afford at BUDK's multi-buy deal and if I had waited about a week could have gotten them on the penny shipping special which would have turned it into a super unbeatable deal. Right out of the box at about twelve feet as it figures three good sticks w/ two rotations so the balance and fun is happening. To the issue of the cord wrap coming off what I'm in the process of doing that I found works about the best for me is a coating of liquid rubber, the type used to dip the handles of pliers and other hand tools in. It also comes in spray cans(Plasti Dip). It does add to the handle weight especially with multiple coats but not so much as to ruin the balance. These are pretty large cord wraps so if it's seems to easy to remedy with a few clean swipes of a good file at the pointed handle end or cleanly wrap tape on the shaft near the axe head.

I bought this tomahawk for fun and it is pretty sweet. I stuck my target almost every time. It's very sharp and very awesome. The only thing is the nylon cord became loose and fell off and i don't know how to redo it. but over all a great weapon.

I bought one on accident. Then I started using it...throw away your kama this is a modern replacement...throwable and even has holes in the bottom of handle tip for rope (ala kusari!) or straps for your arm etc. Very very versatile piece definitely modern ninja gear! I tossed my crappy wooden kama after I got 2 of these! Now I need one more to make a kusari-kama! (kidding I wouldnt toss my old budo gear ... unless I had too :))

very light weight and very durable, easier to swing than a judo chop lol it will accomplish what you want for it. very good buy well worth the money.

Awesome thrower! Spike was blunt but nothing an angle grinder couldn't fix. Paracord came undone after first throw but, again, nothing that can't be fixed. Just re-wrap. Sheath is mediocre, keeps you from cutting yourself. All in all though, it's fun and well worth the money.

This a great tomahawk to play with and just throw the only reason i put 4 star is that the paracord falls off when you throw it but I like it I recommend it to anybody thank you budk

My parents bought this for me as a Christmas present, that was about 2 years ago. It came razor sharp right out of the box, ready to go. The throwing is nice, and it holds an edge for a good time. The sheath is great, and holds up nicely, but after awhile the lanyard on top starts to wear the sheath a little. The only problem is the cord, like many other review say the wrapping is pretty bad. The edge of the handle wears it down very fast! But over all it's a great buy, and is totally worth it. Just get some real cord and wrap it nice with some duct tape first, (to keep the cord from getting worn on the handle).

This is a great tomahawk! I have been using it for almost a year now and it still works great . it sticks pretty good but I wish I would stick a little better. Love the back spike. Thanks budk I'll be ordering from you again!

Great throwing axe. Sticks almost every time. Everyone loves to throw it. Only down is the cord on handle is cheap and will come off after several throws. But over all good.

Great tomahawk. Sticks very well. The blade has to be sharpened, as it is not sharp out of the box. The black nylon cord came off and whipped my hand as I threw it for the second time. Easy fix, just wrap it with tennis grip tape or duct tape. Overall, great job Budk.

For 15$, you can't really beat it. Good balance, throws nice. Spikes the target nearly every time. Can't say the same for the blade. Chips and dullness have become a nuisance after about 250 throws. Cord wrapping is useless, came off within the first dozen tosses. Buy some paracord too because the handle is tough on the hands after their shabby wrap comes off. Not a bad 1 timer 'hawk though.

I purchased 2 different tomahawks, and this one really is great! Good balance, easy to throw with accuracy, and perfect weight. The only small problem I had was after about a dozen throws, the rope handle started to loosen. But, after a quick tightening, I was back to throwing again.

GREAT BUY FOR THE MONEY. I've had mine for about 4 years and I love it. We used to throw blades in the scouts and I can tell you this is Great fun for Pros or Beginners. It should take you 15 mins from opening the box to dialing in the balance. Only 2 things bug me; the holster is slow on the draw and the handle cord comes undone after a few throw. I replaced nylon cord for leather after a while. LOVE THIS AXE! For your bug out bag, your car/home, camping, combat, or just as a "big boys toy" pass time, its a keeper.

It's well made for the price. Very sharp out of the box. Wrapped the handle in electrical tape because of the other reviews. Not too sure how well it handles, haven't tried yet. But it's a good inexpensive tomahawk. Very worth it for use in a bugout bag.

Over all a great axe really accurate and sturdy its light weight the only thing I didn't like was the twine for handle wrap it sucked and came of first throw but I ended up makeing a monkey fist with it so not to bad but I wish the blade was a tad bit bigger other than that I love it :)

I like this axe. Lightweight, good steel, back spike. I even like the cheap corded handle (yeah i know it will unravel). HATE hate hate the sheath.

(4 out of 5)
Nice blade outta the box, not to sharp but sharp enough to hold the edge for a long time. Feels good to throw, back spike seems to stick more then actual axe head.Mine was defective and broke towards the head after a few throws thou. That was due to the steel being heated to long. Probably just a 1/100 defective piece due to mass production and i was given a new one and this one is perfect. Overall im very happy with this purchase

now this is cool now every single blade fresh out the box has grease on it which is a way to tell is a fine blade i would trust this in a crisis and maybe even with my life nice job

I ordered this two days ago and I hope it is going to be cool. I read some other reviews of this being great and good for beginners. Just about the only two downsides I've read say that the handle wrapping falls of and that it has a bid ricochet if you don't stick it. Anyway, for the price it seems awesome. Keep up the epic work, BudK! :)

Based on the review I've read, it seems quite excellent. I ordered it yesterday, and I think it will be cool. I just have heard about BudK, and I think they are beyond awesome with deals and prices. Keep up the good work, BudK!

Well it took 7 buisness days to get to my house. so shippin was amazing and very insight ful for future expearences. the actual product how ever is also great throwing it sting about 98% of my throws and the only problem i guess is that the tip of the handle sticks more than the actual blade. one other small problem is that the handle wrapin fell off. overall though its a awEsome purchase.
Oct 31, 2012
(4 out of 5)
The tomahawk I received came razor sharp, I always do a shave test on my arm, and this one passed. It's very very lightweight, which means it has an extreme ricochet if you don't stick it. The paracord will come off, mine came off on the first throw. You can buy some sueded leather at a hobby shop and do a practical horizontal wrap, it will be much more comfortable and durable. This tomahawk stick on nearly every throw, weather it be the blade, the spike, or the handle spike, if you throw it straight, it will stick. This tomahawk is perfect for beginners, based on the price and ease of throwing. After you get the hang of throwing it, you will definitely want to upgrade!

Bought two of them. They are awesome as despensables throwers. They are cut out of sheet metal, and really wouldn't chop [expletive removed], but has some great precision jabbing and puncturing points that are also wonderful for throwing.<br /><br />All in all, these are solely throwing tomahawks, which is pretty much all a tomahawk is for, but I gave it 4 stars because the sheathe is worthless (it is very tedious to get the hawk in and out without stretching the sheathe apart with both hands, which takes a lot of time).
Aug 03, 2012
(4 out of 5)
Lightweight and very durable. The sheath however was a bit of a disappointment; it took me a while to figure out how it went in. But still, great buy, might get another one. Thank you Budk!

(4 out of 5)
Really cool tomahawk, cord never stays on these things i had it shipped to work so when i got it i took cord off completely and smoothed the handle edges with a buffing wheel giving it a slight radius, now it throws a lot better. The sheath is my only complaint, you have to slide handle through top to get it out, they could have designed it better. Great axe
Jul 20, 2012
(4 out of 5)
This axe was sharp enough to stick. The spike on the back broke after about 150 throws. The cord handle comes loose and eventually you are forced to remove it and put on your handle grip. I'm not at all an expert thrower. This was my first throwing experience
Jun 29, 2012
(4 out of 5)
This tomahawk is very well built but the cord does come unwrapped and all you need is some duct tape and you're good to throw for a long time. The cord unwrapping along with the tomahawk not sticking but the actual ax head are it's 4 stars and not 5 but still highly recommended
Feb 01, 2012
(4 out of 5)
It is really great. Although, like with any other BudK product, the "nylon" cord wrapping came off within 30 min, it is still a great piece. The slim pointed side opposite the axe blade does not come with a blade even made on it like the pic shows though. Good stick most of the times.
Oct 23, 2011
(4 out of 5)
I threw mine for a couple of weeks before the handle unraveled. I easily fixed that though by wrapping it back however(does not matter how) then wrapped that with several layers of sports tape, although all kind of tape works. It's now been about a month later and that still has not came off yet. Also I wish I lived in a place with stuff to throw it at. If your around trees then Id recommend it.
Oct 12, 2011
(4 out of 5)
I really like this axe! I actually got it stuck in a tree and landed on the tip of the handle! Cool! Sticks to anything as long as you throw it correctly. Couple things I would change on it. The sheath, is veeeeeerrrryyyy tight to get the handle in with the wrapping of the cord. The cord isn't wrapped tight, came undone after a couple throws at a target. So what I did was wrap the handle in electrical tape, now its a lot easier to get in and out of the sheath with the slippery tape! Good move!

After 500ish throws, my girlfriend managed to snap the spike off the rear of the hawk tossing it into our little target, and now its too out of balance to throw. I can still kind of chop with it, but as I said, the rear spike broke right off today... kind of depressing, but that's what you get when you buy stamped steel from China ;(

(3 out of 5)
A strong tomahawk well made but the handle is flimsy and broke off I ended up dipping it in a handle making dip also I would worry about the spike on the bottom of the handle catching your wrist in a fight and cutting you the way it is made however I would not expect it to break other than the string handle and would also be imposable to grab in a fight because of the spikes above the grip for throwing however (I have not tried this) I would assume it works very well but for hand to hand it worries me it also was not labeled as a throwing tomahawk when I got it so for what its advertised as now it likely works very well but not for the reason I got it over all it’s a ok weapon

Well i love this tomahawk alot can nail a target from a very long distance. although as good as it WAS it broke in less than 2 weeks. The spike end of it snapped off when it stuck into a log we had set up for a target. Was a good purchase until that happened. So you still get what you pay for i guess next time ill be buying one with a bigger spike on the end so it wont snap.

I am an avid knife and axe thrower and I must say this item was ultimately disappointing in that regard. It was not sharp out of the box which despite its nice weight distribution made it hard to stick even with good contact. The blade was the only thing even remotely thin enough to expect it to stick the points were dull and thick, not even really points to be honest. I will have to go back and sharpen all of these things and hope for better results but as far as this item comes out of the box, it is not at all as advertised.
