The Lord of The Rings Customer Favorites
By Adelia Ladson
Any sword collector or movie prop enthusiast can tell you that some of the most coveted collectibles are pieces from the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. United Cutlery, the premier manufacturer of high-quality collectibles has produced an outstanding line of officially licensed replicas from the movie. These are the only "Lord of the Rings" pieces that you will find on the market that are legitimate, each coming with a certificate of authenticity.
What Makes The Replicas So Special?
While it would be rather difficult to get your hands on an actual prop from the filming of the movie, United Cutlery lets you get your hands on the closest thing that you can get - replicas that were cast from actual filming props built by Weta Workshop for the films. While the movie props were sometimes made of resin to be lighter and easier to maneuver during filming, these replicas are made from resin, as well as, solid stainless steel, making them collectibles that will last a lifetime. Each includes a premium wooden plaque for display. Here are a few customer favorites for you to consider for your collection.
Helm of King Theoden
If you dream of leading the Riddermark of Rohan in victory against the Uruk-hai, in the Battle of Helm's Deep, the Helm of King Theoden is for you! The monarch of Rohan's steel helm was ornately engraved and enameled, featuring a horse head crest. The surface was also decorated with bronze and copper sun and horse motifs, and the leather neck guard was embossed with Rohirric designs. The reproduction helm is expertly sculpted entirely of reinforced polyresin with precisely molded details and coloring so that it looks as if it was crafted of actual steel, copper and brass. The neck guard is genuine embossed leather like the original and the interior is lined and padded with leather, plus, there's a leather chin-strap. The helm comes with a polystone and wood display, sculpted in the shape of King Theoden's neck and shoulder armor. The stand also features a metal shield with an individual serial number.
Second Age Gondorian War Shield
The Second Age Gondorian War Shield, which was used in the prologue of "The Fellowship of the Ring," is a truly impressive piece at a little under four feet in length and 1 1/2 feet in width. It was carried by the soldiers of Gondor in the Last Alliance of Elves and Men. The reproduction, life-sized shield is cast in hard polyresin that looks like actual wood and steel. It features the Tree of Gondor and Crown in raised relief and there are two carrying straps on the back. An added bonus is that a blue and silver, cloth war banner of Gondor is included with the shield.
Mace of Sauron And Ring Red Eye Edition
Another impressive weapon that made an appearance in the prologue of the "Fellowship of the Ring" film, the Mace of Sauron was wielded by the Dark Lord against the Last Alliance of Elves and Men. Apart from its size and heft, the mace's intaglio-etched surface and corroded iron coloring makes it a striking (no pun intended) movie replica. It's crafted of reinforced fiberglass-resin, and it can be displayed on an included polystone wall mount. You're also getting, with the mace, a gold-plated metal replica of the One Ring and a black cloth war banner printed with the Red Eye of Sauron.
Half-Scale Helm of Sauron
If you have the Mace of Sauron, you absolutely have to have the Half-Scale Helm of Sauron to display with it. The authentic replica is a smaller version of the prop helm that was worn by the actor in the movie. It also features an intaglio-etched surface like the mace to give it a weathered, blackened look. The 15 1/2" tall helm is made of polyresin and it comes with a polystone display stand that's sculpted in the same style as Sauron's armor.
Glamdring Sword of Gandalf
If you're a sword collector, you need to add the replica Glamdring Sword of Gandalf to your collection. The sword is a massive 47" in overall length with a 35 1/4" stainless steel blade, extending from a solid metal crossguard inscribed with Elven runes. The metal hilt and pommel has an antique finish, and the grip is genuine leather. The included wooden wall display has a silkscreened design, and it holds the sword securely.
